Hey guys,
I have got a couple of problem here about my double lifts and wondering if you could help.
1. How to not lift more than 2 cards.
2. Words to say if you really screws it up.
3. Tips on double lifting.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Pls also reccomend some sites where I can learn some skills on DL.

Tips
-get ready ahead of time by obtaining a break.
-hold cards gently
-do it in a natural manner as a layman would do it.

Dragon ,

I prefer the strike dl. Bevel the cards a bit and don't force it. On the turn over just let it drop. If you get a card more, simply turn it over and do it again.

Practice is the answer. You could do the easiest to the hardest double lift available. it's your choice.

Doc Eason has a nice DL on one of his vids.

What method do you use?

I find the snap double more reliable than the strike double.
Other than that, it's practice, practice and more practice.

The first few times, when practicing alone, try to do it fast with no thinking, then count how many cards you have. Keep doing this 'til you have it down. Or, you could do a very obvious count of two cards with proper misdirection, such as a joke.
You know you are a magician when you have boxes full of lecture notes you have never read, but still are excited about going out and buying more.

I started using blaine´s method (fliping it over the deck, then fliping back . all with a break)and works beautifully. Anyways, I beleive that DL is a move naturally linked with misdirection...

It is called the Push-Off Double Lift. I learning it by a good magician friend who send a video to me with his tutorial.

I would really recommend mastering the Push-Off DL. It looks amazingly natural when you can go through the moves subconsciously. As for words you can say when you mess up, I would concentrate more on getting enough practice so that you don't have to worry about this. Remember not to show it until you're ready!
