It depends on wat you like but ETMMM has a lot of different stuff in each vol and hence in my opinion any vol is suitable for a beginner as its easy (duh) and can stil get a strong reaction from the audience.
you might wanna try mind mysteries by osterlind as its strong stuff with easy handlings. psi series vol 1 and 2 by banacheck are good for beginners too but vol 3 and 4 are IMO a bit more advanced. Max Maven's Video Mind Series is also another series you can check out. I think there are some threads started abt this series so if you do a search you would be able to find the discussion on it. anyway I copied and pasted the contents of ETMMM below for ur easy reference. took it from murphy supplies website Vol 1: -Swami Opener -Magic Vs. Mindreading -A Question & The Answer -Extra-Sensory Perception -A Word in Thousands -El Numero -Syd Bergson Center Read -Telephone Directory -Seven Keys To Baldpate -Marked Thought Vol 2: -Magic Medallion -Five Star Prediction -Clip Line -Hoy Book Test -Blindfold Routine -Flip Flop Flush -Ultimate Matrix -The Trick That Fooled Einstein -Mental Numbers -Headline Prediction Vol 3: -Par-Optic Vision -Fourth Dimensional Telepathy -The Third Choice -Locked Eye Test -Locked Hands Test -The Abnormal Lift -Tervil -Impromptu Book Test -Slate Writing -Living & Dead -Encore Card Stabbing Vol 4: -Acidus Plus -Magazine Test -Pateo Force -Pseudo Psychometry -Predict-Tac-Toe -Synonymental -Original Center Tear -Viewed ESP Prediction -Spoon Bending -Key Bending -Phantom Artist cheerios

If you mean what sleights are taught with each trick, as in 'Easy to Master Card Miracles' then that is more difficult to answer. The DVD set teaches you Billet switches and peeks , Blindfold peeks, Nailwriting, Common Physcology, Forces and other basic mentalism principles, but each trick isn't clearly just a certain sleight. Each DVD teaches certain hint's with each trick, along with the handling and the constuction of what ever gaff's that need's to be bought or constructed. Also on each DVD is two short video essays, of. Mr Osterlind talking about what he thinks are the real secrets of mentalism. The real secrets on each volume are: Vol 1. Use of Disclaimers Secret to Mentalism Vol 2. Perfect Theory Questions from Newcomers Vol 3. Choose Your Material Well Pre-Show Work Vol 4. Props in Mentalism How to Make the Audience Like You If you had to ask me what was my favourite volume I would say, Vol 2, closely followed by, Vol 4, then Vol 1, and finally Vol 3. Hope this helps.
