I just heard that Peter Marucci passed on Sunday, 1 May.
A generous man. RIP.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Saddened to hear that. Never met him but enjoyed his presence here on the Café when he used to post a lot.

This is sad news. RIP
I liked his articles, and he even sent me his non-gimmick Scotch and Soda routine many years ago. He probably wouldn't have remembered me, but his generosity always stuck in my mind. |

So I’m sitting reading an old Linking Ring from June 1992. Peter Marucci had some great routines. The routine he came up with used a deck of Jokers only. (He had saved Jokers up for years!). Anyway, it was a great routine and it’s cool that you can now order full decks of Jokers online. Life’s pretty good sometimes, isn’t it? I was hoping Peter was still alive so I could thank him. Instead I’ll recommend that you blow the dust off some old Linking Rings magazines and give some of his articles a second read. There’s some gems In them thar pages!

Dang, don't know how I missed this. I was just reviewing the non-gimmick Scotch and Soda routine he sent me years ago.
Mr. Marucci was a mystical baller. Respect.
"Sure, I do Scotch and Soda in every show. What? You mean there's a trick by that name?"

On the humorous side, I recall Pete having a very distinct aversion to mouth coils, and some strong opinions on the color changing knives. He made many interesting (and often funny) posts on these subjects
Consider doing a username search on "Peter Marucci" and you will find a wealth of interesting thinking!
