Dear white rabbits and magicians reading this
I have a real problem to be solved. I desperately need to learn this trick. I will explain how the trick looks in a moment, but first my weird reason to learn it. The reason why this trick is important to me is: 1. A "Muslim Imam" (I call him Conman-X) uses this trick to cheat many children in my town. He claims that the text is in the bowl is "written by the Prophet Muhammad". 2. I do not want to reveal the trick on youtube, just perform a similar trick with another message for the same children and their parents, so that everyone can see he's lying... Perhaps write this in the sand: Tricks from Conman-X is not from the Prophet. If anybody knows how to do this trick or where to buy it, then please help me. The trick looks exactly like this: 1. You put a plate or a bowl on a table. (not always the same, any random bowl and random table + no tablecloth on) 2. You pour salt, sugar or sand in it (people can test this to be what it is). 3. You cover it all with a scarf. (this is always the same green one from an assistant) 4. From then on it is a "self-working" trick: You wait for more than half an hour... (always like this - why??) 5. You lift the headscarf and there is now a written text in the sand. (perfect, sharp. Almost like cut out in thick mud) This text is not pressed into the sand, but the letters are "lifted" up (or maybe all the other sand just pressed down??). I'll send a unicorn on a rainbow if you solve this for me (not a joke) (or maybe that last part was a joke?). Thanks, M. |

How is the conman cheating kids out of money with this trick? I get the issue many people have with claims of miracles, but I do wonder what makes him so bad. Is it that you really want to expose the trickery of a guy who offends you by claiming messages come from Mohammed or is he actually doing harm to people?
Sounds like a really good trick! -Patrick |

He waits for half an hour? What do the kids do during this time. I would lose my audience! Jim
Is the green cloth freely shown before putting it on the bowl? Can it be examined after the trick? |

He does it to gain power over others. I'm not even sure that he is a true Imam. I have not written that I was offended by his claims of the texts from Mohammed. He makes this trick 1-2 times each year. It's the only trick he can do! But it is effective and convincing. I do not know if he earns money, but I do not think so. He is retired and receives plenty of money from the state. The trick is the small part of what he does - but also his weak link! The problem is that there are many children from weak families going to him. He threatens children and sometimes their parents too. He also uses the children to get to some weak parents who has post-traumatic stress disorder and some who does not yet know the language here. Often the children are translating for their parents. He radicalize their children from an early age. When I talk to the families, they are convinced that he is right. The parents say things like this: "Our children could see that he got texts from Muhammad, written in sand - so everything he says is true." I have nothing against any religion, but I do mind when people misuse religion. He says that the parent shall use violence to make the children follow everything he says. It is not legal to use violence in my country, but he can say that and later on say that "Oh, that! That was ironi or a joke". As long as it is not him, but the parents who use violence - he can get away with this. I was told that one of the kids said they go to "(the conman)meetings in the death cult". There is much talk about death and several of the children bought burial clothes. They showed me their new clothes and they were very proud. I just want to prove that the conman is lying. If I can do the same trick without being "in contact with Mohammed" - then I'll prove that it is only a trick. I plan to show the trick to one family at a time. Then I will have a chat with them and tell them that they have been cheated by the conman. They should keep their religion. There are many great Imams in my country. Honest people who support democracy and human rights. I would suggest that they go to them instead. Some can even read without shouting random bad stuff at children! M |

He uses the time to scare the children, so they can not sleep at night. The children are afraid of the threats of violence and his stories. Therefore, they sit still for way too long. However, I would not recommend this method to be used on your audience. It is not a good advertisement for your show if children wet their pants or have nightmares for years to come Yes, the green scarf is waved around and viewed from all angles. It can be examined after the trick. It is a scarf that his wife sometimes wears. I imagine that he might have some kind of device or machine in his sleeve. Something that he can quickly push into the sand while he waves the scarf. He may have made the text in some kind of glue, so that he simply throws it under the scarf as a small "frispee". When the glue was drying, he could sprinkle sugar, salt or sand on it. It seems to be random what he uses (but always salt, sugar, sand). It is often one of the same three assistants who runs out to get salt, sugar or sand from the kitchen. Buy the way, that last item is a strange spice! Perhaps it's from "Hells kitchen" haha M, |

I'm familiar with the trick, but we do not reveal secrets here. Just go to a library and check out some books on spiritual shamanism, or expose of tricks of mediums. Sand isn't always the medium it is written in, but the trick is the same.

I hope you did manage to find out enough to put this man to shame. People have always used conjuring tricks to gain power and con people but we can at least show people the truth of the matter very easily today.
Good luck!
