Saw a Facebook post that Bob Cassidy passed today. Haven't seen anything else on this.
If that's the case, what a huge loss to mentalism. Bob contributed some great things to our art. :( |

Plenty of threads around the Café, but thanks for bringing it to spooky.
I own much of Bob's work and have enjoyed his knowledge and wisdom over the years. He will be missed! RIP Bob!

A great thinker and performer. A true loss.

A tremendous loss and, on the same day, the death of Daryl.

Yeah. Both were incredible gifts to the magic world.
Cassidy was an active member of the Café, and I enjoyed his mentalism contributions, and it was always fun to seem him mix it up in the political threads. Daryl was an incredible performer, creator, and teacher. Seeing him perform was a treat. Buying his magic was an investment in quality. And watching one of his DVDs was like learning from your favorite professor in college. He made you want to learn. So sorry to hear how he died.

I know this thread was initially about Bob, and it still is, but most people in the community haven't really heard the news yet as it just happened last evening. Here's a news link for anybody interested. I am still in shock. It is just too unbelievable..

I can't even imagine his pain to have made him get to this point, nor the pain that his family and friends are going through right now. Condolences to all.

It's funny, to me, because I haven't read a ton of Bob's material. It's on the "To Read" pile, for sure, but mostly I've read Fundamentals and seen a few of his videos. But regardless, I felt a connection to him. His passion for the art of mentalism fueled my own.
Daryl was a good magician and a great person. I met him a couple times and he was very nice. But Bob's passing is why I was in tears last night. I don't know if I'll ever understand how a stranger's passing could effect me so strongly, but there you have it.
