I am looking for a camera to record live stage shows both magic and hypnosis. I am also hoping to use this camera to record walk around material as well. The footage will be resold as live versions of the show.

Thank you.

The basic rule is to get the best camera you can afford. For a professional quality camera you can expect the prices to start at around $2,000. Are there usable cameras less than that? Of course. If you're shooting really close to the action and have a lot of light, you can get good results from less expensive cameras. The extra money typically goes to higher resolution and optics. If you're shooting something destined for YouTube, the higher resolution might not be as important. If you're creating content to be played back on a wide screen HD television, the resolution becomes more of an issue. at around $1200, this JVC 4K Camcorder is a nice balance of price and quality.
