I found this little ditty on an interesting, old transformation card from Australia:

“The cards in this pack, I hold to view
Like the weeks of our year are – fifty-two;
Then count the dots, and so arrive
At the days of the year – three-sixty-five.
The suits are four and he who seeks
Throughout a month can find four weeks.
While tricks are thirteen, making clear
The thirteen months of our lunar year.
That’s why churchwardens keep a pack
In the vestry – as an Almanac.

Greetings for 1916”
"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."
"The dog did nothing in the night-time."
"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.

This kind of verse has been turned into a story song as well for WW I, WW II, Korea, Vietnam and Middle East Conflicts.

How do you "count the dots" to reach 365?

There are two index pips on each card (= 26 per suit)

For each of the numerical cards in a suit there are 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10=55 main field pips.

So there are 26+55=81 x 4 suits = 324 pips. Where are the other 41 to bring the total to 365?
