Hi,

Can anyone point me towards a dollar bill transforming to four quarters (25 cents) routine, if they know of any? I'm looking for something visual. I've got some ideas, but want to see what's been published. Thanks.

best,
joe

I don't know of any magic by magicians that uses quarters. I never heard of such a transformation, some productions, but no transformations.

Look no further than Fujiwara Gimmick. Four coins to bill or vise vera.

Thanks for that, I'll definitely check it out. Any I should have mentioned I am looking for something 'barehanded' (at least apparently).

On camera tricks by casshan wallace there is a 4 quarters to a dollar bill trick if that's any good to you.

Would you be okay dropping the bill onto a tray?
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Possibly. I managed to work out a version I’m pretty happy with using just a TT. Still looking for better ways to secure quarters besides basically (trying to) quietly taking them out of my pocket. So still looking at other versions.

Al Baker has "Change For A Dollar" where change is produced from the bill.

See page 344 of Hugards Magic Monthly August 1947

I’ve done a trick transforming a bill to 10 dimes.
Unfortunately I don’t remember where I got it from.
I never tried quarters.

There is an item in "The Magic of Michael Ammar" book, which is a transformation of a dollar bill into four quarters - the method can be used to change a bill into any small object.

It looks very clean, although technically you aren't.

I sometimes do this to clerks when I'm paying for something. I use the Quiver coin purse. It's not bare handed, but it goes over pretty well.

The closest I found to what you describe is "Silver Certificate", where a dollar bill changes into a single silver dollar. Were you thinking of something else?

You might want to check out John Carneys "Logical Bill trick." He produces 4 halves, but I think you could use quarters. The bill then changes to 100.

John, my apologies for not replying sooner, I had forgotten all about this thread.

The item I'm referring to is on page 60, its the last part of the Utilities chapter. Its described as a vanish, but Mike mentions its use as a transformation into four quarters (although you could use any small object).
The second picture on the opposite page shows how things are held for the transformation.
