Does anyone know someone that can insert shims/magnets into playing cards? I know that Handcrafted Miracles did it, but they are closed now. Any references would be great.

You can buy them at most magic shops. Do you need one that is custom made or will these links do?
https://www.propdog.co.uk/bicycle-shim-card?search=shim https://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/pr......em=43859 Prop Dog is in the UK, Hocus Pocus is in Cali. HP says they have a two pack in stock, but I've found their online system to unreliable at times so I would call and ask first. Cole will be happy to help you.

Hey Kaliix,
I need them custom. I actually need a very thin magnet that will repel the magnet in my hand. Regards, Henok |

I happened to find some on Amazon. search "QUICK PICK MAGIC Pair of Real Bicycle PK MAGNETIC CARDS / gaffed magic cards / Neo magnetic Cards" I think it is 2 cards for $5.99. I was looking for "shimmed cards" I always thought "magnetic cards" had magnets and "shimmed cards" were just attracted to a magnet. I ended up ordering 10 sheets of 6" x 18" sheets with a thickness of 0.0015" for a mere $13.00. The first review said it was good for magic PK routines. I can split cards pretty well now since I switched to Phoenix Brand a couple years ago and had to start making my own gaffs or pay a premium to get them done. If you want it bad enough, you will learn
That said, there are very skilled gaffers on this board Mercury52 (Kevin Reylek) Great guy CardMaker/Bernd Maucksch https://plus.google.com/+CardMakerBerndMauckschGermany/posts https://www.facebook.com/CardMakerBerndMaucksch Quote:

I find my own 1/32" (and bigger) in all shapes and sizes from https://kjmagnetics.com for a song and a dance to do my own stuff. Check it out, the mags are very inexpensive.

Got my sheets from Amazon and yes they are paper thin, easily cut with regular scissors and will shim a card well. However the 0.0015 will just hold a magnetic half if you split cards first. I found I needed 2 layers of shim if I wanted to just glue it between 2 unsplit cards like many shops sell. That will hold a half well and for a magnetic Morgan, I needed 3 layers. The 0.0015 is thin enough that 3 (maybe even 4 layers would go unnoticed by most but if you want bigger coins or just a more secure grip on the ones you use, you might want to go with a 0.002, 0.0025 or a 0.003 (if these sizes are available)
Personally, I have 10 sheets of 6" x 18" x 0.0015 and all for personal use. I will have no issues using multiple layer and still have plenty of leftovers for coin shell shims (where I think My thinner size will work well). Just my 2 cents worth - YMMV.

Go to Amazon and copy paste - 1008 Steel Sheet, Full Hard Temper, ASTM A109, 0.0015" Thick, 6" Width, 18" Length, Pack of 10 in search. You probably will pass though, I paid $13 in 2018 it is $95 today (inflation, tariffs...???) the other I bought for $16 and it is only $53 today - 1008 Steel Sheet, Full Hard Temper, ASTM A109, 0.010" Thick, 6" Width, 18" Length, Pack Of 10
The 1st one is the one I found almost too thin and the other is pretty thick (but great for gluing between 2 cards) which I used to buy at my local brick and mortar for $10 ea.
