Looking for any recommendations on a bird cage that could be concealed as a body load. Part of my act is producing random objects as asides and I have always wanted to produce a cage. Thanks!

There really isn't any cages available currently, hasn't been for about 15 years. There was a very expensive set available made in Japan, but to my knowledge that are no longer made. They came is 3 sizes. The draw back was they did not lock, so when they were produced they wild jump upon opening and smash your finger if you held the ring at the top. One famous magician solved that by doing a front table steal, and putting a "T" handle on the ring.
You will just have to look at the used magic market. Can't remember his name off hand, but he also made bronze color appearing canes and Can to torches. There were also copies made in India, these were not a perfect as the one I mention above, so you have to be careful you are not buying a copy. I don't think they were made in the small size like the ones from Japan. That would be best for body loads. The medium would work as well, depending on your concealment. Productions are usually used as a finale to an act or short routine. It announces the end or finish of the sequence of magic. Just producing cages, swords, bottle have no connection to each other, therefore may not be understood by the audiences. |

Two of these held mouth to mouth by elastic cords ought to do the trick and even hold live canaries or parakeets when produced.

I saw some listed on the Abbott Magic website and on the Owen Magic Supreme website. I believe there were 3 sizes available on each site.

If the one you select does not have a locking mechanism, have a sleeve made for the cage can slide into when closed, When it is pulled from the sleeve, it springs out. |
