I'm a sophomore in high school, and I have tons of home work every night. I try to work in some practice time, but it's really hard. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can squeeze out some more time? Thanks!

Give up sleeping. Just kidding.
Don't give up your schooling. Get your homework done first. Then spend time practicing. You'll feel better about yourself and you'll be more relaxed when you do get time to practice. It's quality over quantity. See?
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

Please make sure to take care of your priorities. You have the rest of your life to study Magic, and that's a LONG time. You only have two years left of high school. Make them count, make them important, and make them matter. I'm telling you this because I remember high school. My last years in high school were formative years in my life. I made a lot of decisions then that are still important to me now...25 years later. Don't goof it up by confusing your priorities. Get the diploma and then live your life the way you see fit.
Then college. We can continue THIS discussion then.

Thanks for the advice. I would never skip out on my education. I understand the importance of it, and I do plan on going to college. I'm just a little annoyed with myself that I can't work in more practice time. Thanks again!

Just twenty or so minutes of quality practice a day will show results.

Patrick gave you excellent advice.

The bottom line is you either have time for practice or you don't. Are you spending free time watching televison, talking on the phone with friends, listening to the radio? If the answer is no and all you have time for is homework, then magic practice will have to be put aside.

I'm afraid I'm a little swamped with homework. the other thing is that in senior year I want to go to a "performing arts" program run by the school. It's counted as school work, but I need an 85 average to be accepted. That makes all the more work for me.

When I get home from work I practice for about 4 - 5 hours a day.
