Would you please share with us any good stories that happened to you while you were performing? Perhaps a routine where serendipitous circumstances made the effect much stronger than normal, or perhaps a funny story comes to mind?

The more stories, the better! I’m also curious about what was your favorite experience as a professional mentalist, either on or off the stage.
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

There's a famous Becker story that began when I contacted Wellington Enterprises to build a table for the Psychic Gambling act that April and I were doing at that time. When I was asked what size I wanted the table (I wanted a giant black die with white spots, containing cubby holes to store props and two doors on the front that swung open enabling a lucite paper shredder to slide out. I thought 2 feet square sounded like a good size. Three months later when I was called to come pick up the cube (I live in New Jersey and Bills place was in upstate NY) I jumped into my wife's 280 ZX hatchback and raced to NY. When I got there and saw how humongous 2 square feet is, I realized I wouldn't be able to get it into the car. So off I went back to New Jersey. After convincing my wife that we needed a new station wagon (like $25,000 worth) I returned to NY to pick up the cube. It was then that Bill said that I really needed a case to hold the cube when travelling. After two guys lifted the cube and placed it in the packing case...I couldn't even get it in the station wagon. (Have you ever seen a grown man cry like a baby?) To make a long story shorter, I had them place the cube inside the wagon and then lash the case to the roof of the car. I used the *** thing twice. It eventually ended up in our garage in Florida in 1985. In 1990 we decided to move the Arizona. My wife held a garage sale. Good friend Danny Tong came over the house. I pulled him aside and told him to pretend that he wanted to buy the black cube on the chrome table base and the box that it came in. I even said that I would pay HIM to take it off my hands. Danny agreed to the deception. I proudly turned to my wife and said, "Honey, Danny wants to buy the cube." Danny yelled, "No April, I really don't want the *** cube, I just want that chrome table base." I could have killed him. April screamed back, "You can't have the cube and you can't have the base. I'm going to bury the genius in it when he goes."

If you ever visit us in AZ be sure to ask me to show you what's in the large case in our garage.
