David Blaine performed such a horrific, gory illusion at a taping of Carson Daly's late-night show, NBC was considering canceling the segment. "Oh God, it was so gross - David pulled his beating heart out of his chest, put it back in, and then collapsed," said one spy at the taping. "He had to be carried off the stage by some helpers. Some girls in the audience ran out crying and screaming, while Carson just stood there stunned and they blacked out the stage." here is a link to the video, not for the faint of heart. http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/7518/ |

Yeah, I miss the good ol' days when he had a pack of cards in his hands.

I saw it once. Think he was talking about an ex-girlfriend or something.
Reminds me of an episode in the Simpsons. Wouldn't give him much for taste, but the presentation's amazing, I think. Hope he doesn't build a full routine around it. |

See/hear the audience reaction? He knows what he's doing. That's why he's on TV and we're here;-)

It looks totally freaky.
Everyone knows, he can not do that but they still react as if he suicides in front of them *g

Perhaps a brain removal next?
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

I think everyone would know that was a trick. My take on the heart removal: STUPID.

Sorry, wrong schtick - I don't do card tricks. And I absolutely cannot stand David Blaine. I would rather watch tennis on TV. I know he has his following. I am not one - and that colors how I view his tricks. And I still think it is a stupid bit - too many kids may try and copy it.

Yeah, that was a pretty dumb assertion on my part. See what discussing Blaine does to me.

We have to respect him for this. I cannot go through a performance without having at least a handful of spectators mention him. Unlike other performers(Copperfield, Penn $ Teller, Lance Burton, etc.), people think he is the real deal. Pulling his heart out on national television, regardless of what you think, pushes him further into that realm of what lay people consider real magic. For you to just call this "stupid" is well, stupid... |

I said it was dumb. Mea cuplpa. For you to repeat that it was stupid when I agreed that is was was even stupider. What would you have me do, rip my heart out? Give it a rest.

Paul Harris worked with David on creating his character for his street magic special. So, I guess we can all gang up on Paul also. How dare David be successful without also having to say " would you like that super sized" to make a living!!!

Of course I never took back my comment about Blaine ripping his heart out. Why should I? I thought it was stupid. I still do. I can't stand Blaine or his so called magic (yeah, sitting above the Thames River on a starvation trick is real magic). You don't like it? Tough. Didn't know I answered to you or had to justify my opinion.
