I recently purchased a karaoke machine from Hospice for about $12. It is in great condition and works perfectly and is brand new. I am having my neighbor hook up a wireless lapel mic. It has controls so I can have the music in the background and talk at the same time. I can adjust the volume for both, too.
I will also be getting a couple speakers which will be getting hooked up to the Karaoke machine. FOr around $60, it's a great 'inexpensive' sounds system to use for small parties. -Tyler |

So now you can be a singing magician...
Seriously, sounds like a great find. Just out of curiosity, how much echo does it have? I know some machines have quite a lot, but it must be adjustable. that's really valuable advice to many, I for instance never would´ve thought about Karaoke systems. Let us know how it turns out.

I haven't had a chance to really try it out. I'll let you know when I get everything hooked up.

I bought a Sony Shelf System (Sony Shelf System (MHC-GX9000)) and it ROCKS! 500 watts and a subwoofer for those deep lows. The best part is it has an onboard mixer to connect up a microphone and mix with your CD/Tape. I use it for my small to medium venues and love the sound. It sells for under $400 but you get the power to perform. I have a Sure wireless headset mic that I plug directly into it. The Sony system also has "effects" like a karaoke system so you don't end up with a
"dry" voice signal. There are several EFFECTS to choose from as well as a graphic equalizer so you can dial it in for some really professional sounding results. I really like this system because I can mix directly with my prerecorded CD's and keep the high quality standards I demand for my sound with my shows. For a more powerful setup and higher quality system, check out the Sony system. It also plays MP3 format disks so you can record your entire sound track onto one disc. The remote control helps me manage from a distance. |
