Is Marlo's Tilt move the same as Vernon's depth illusion? This area I am really confused about/

Who came up with it first? Depends on who you ask. Some Marlo students do say that Vernon came up with it first. Others say Marlo. But the idea was not new with either one of them. Edward Victor had somthing that was like Tilt/Depth illusion, But it was done from the outer end of the deck instead of the inner end.

Now that I think of it, Victor's move may hve been done from the long side of the pack. I'm not sure the details are sketchy in My mind at the moment.

Vernon and Marlo came up with it independently. Vernon did not think much of it at the time and therefore it went nowhere. Ed, on the other hand, saw many possibilites and published a small pamphlet called "Tilt".
