Is the Viking Transmental any good?

I have one. They make two versions, the newer one is better, it's called gemsation. It has different colored gem stones embedded at the end of the rods. It's very cool, but I really don't use it. It's too pretty to play with. I can never get myself to incorporate these "toys" into routines. They are just too pretty and look like props. The secret is diabolical. Your friends will want to examine it, hence, it becomes merely a puzzle. But they will never find out the secret. I see it on ebay at great prices from time to time. If you collect brass, then you won't be disappointed.

Christian Chelman has an interesting twist on Transmental in his book "Capricornian Tales." It doesn't appear easy to do and there are some bold moves but it might give you a different perspective on the effect.
