Let me tell you, I’m very happily engaged right now, but from what I’ve seen in my lifetime, if you do the right card effect for a girl, they will melt in your hand like butter on a stove. For instance do a "here then there" transposition effect in there hands, they will feel like 5 emotions in one, a feeling of fear, astonishment, amazement, bewilderment, and joy. Trust me, make a women feel all those emotions in a matter of seconds and she is yours, especially if you got good looks like me ::wink: :
I had this girl follow me around this house party last year, telling me every 10 minutes I was amazing for like 2 hours. Finally she brought over her 4 hot friends and then I did the Pyro Perception for them, and forget about it. I was like god to them. All I'm saying is if you sex life is lagging, go to a club, hang out at the bar and find a female and say "watch this!!" don't give them time to think, pull out the good old 52 and do some card magic you may think I'm crazy but try it you'll thank me.
I’m full of stories like that, from getting a girls attention by doing a Shapeshifter while riding the train, to getting a phone number from a waitress via Erdnase Colour change. Simple stuff like that can go along way to a female laymen, or should I say, "laygirl."
Feel free too post some stories about your encounters with girls by way of card effects.

When I show women magic they always remark. "He's fast with his hands" and give me a wink. I really do not try to use magic to find women, but I see where you are comming from. Some women get scared of me when I do tricks like pyro perception. I guess I need to ease off on the acting..i get too into it.

I shared this story on another post, but it bears repeating as it goes with the topic. Several years ago when the d'lites first came out I was out with some friends. I carried them with me everywhere at the time. I had one in each pocket and I could slip them on at a moment's notice. We were at our mall and I had my cards out and we were doing some effects for each other. There were some girls there watching casually... not really paying much attention but watching none the less. After putting the cards away into my pocket, I casually slipped on a d'lite. Just as casually I put my other hand in my other pocket and slipped on the other d'lite. One girl was wearing a red sweater. I brought my hands out and shown them empty. I then reached over to her sleeve and pulled a red lite off of it. She went nuts! Then I passed the lite from hand to hand and did a standard d'lite routine. At the end of the effect I transformed the lite into a rose (fake) but it still flattered her when I gave it to her to keep. The conversation just started and we became very good friends. That was several years ago and now we are married. Go figure.

That is a great story!!!
Weapon, you're right that card tricks can impress women, but it won't work for everyone. From your picture and your posts, I'm guessing that you're muscular and probably a smooth-talking guy with some self-confidence. And that probably comes across when you're performing. I think those are probably the reasons you're successful, and magic just helps you get that across and amaze people at the same time. On the other hand, a lot of magicians will come of as geeks when they do card tricks for girls, so they're better off not doing it. But I agree that magic is a great icebreaker in general.

What is the effect? Also, is this in one of the AoA books? (I did a web search, and I did find out that it's on his video from a while back).

I could tell you a few stories that would rattle your cage.. but I won't. Let's just say this - women love a man of mystery. If you can perform a couple of mentalism effects that makes it appear that you are reading her mind, she cannot stand it!
Women are quicker to believe, or perhaps want to believe, that mind reading and things paranormal are real. That goes back to the mysterious stranger - man of mystery thing that women fantasize about..
1) When performing for a female, it's best to perform for her personally, as opposed to performing something for a crowd. This makes her feel special and increases the feeling that you have done something of a "very mystic, very personal" nature and connected with her on some deeply psychic level..
2) Women long to be understood. If you can show her that you "understand" what she's thinking, you've got a fan for life. This is why women, twenty-to-one over men, visit psychics and mediums... They want to be understood... They want to make a mental and emotional connection with someone..
3) Women are somewhat more fantasy-prone than men, except they do not fantasize about the same things men fantasize about. Women think about meeting a man who instinctively knows what she wants and needs. So, if you smoke her with your magic, you've got to be prepared to follow through with a little understanding and romancing. Otherwise.. you're back in the corner showing your buds card tricks..

Pauly, it's in AOA Vol. 1.
Weapon, dude, I guess you've been lucky in that all the girls you've had success with magic are receptive to it. Sad truth is, not many are. All women are different.
I just finished reading an issue of FHM, and they did a sort of scientific test to see what turns a woman on, they used a thermal camera to give accurate results (it's not like women are gonna tell...) and they exposed their test subjects (5 girls) to a variety of things and showed the thermal images of each girl during the tests. One out of those 5 girls was like an ice-queen (ironically she was the sweetest looking, but anyway...) no thermal change whatsoever, whilst it varied with the other 4 depending on the test, they were flaring up.
Women are beautiful but stange creations, and not all of them are the same. Some are neutral about card magic, some think it's lame, some can't get ENOUGH!
But whichever woman you meet, the 1st thing she'll fall for is who you are.
Just my opinion

One time I was showing some trick to my mate in the bar, this got the attention of a lovely girl who was having a drink with her collegues. She sat down at the table and kept asking about my performance, so I showed her some of my magic. And before we knew it was in the early hours. I saw her a few weeks later and she reminded me. (Of course I reminded her because she was gorgious). The make a long story short, we married 3 years ago. so yeah I do believe tricks attract women.... So as Phil said, go figure....

LOL.
Of course they do, they just don't like poorly selected effects or card tricks performed badly. Many people don't perform as adequately as they think they do.
Of course there are better things to attract women than card tricks; success, power, licking your eyebrows...

Once they have finished grinding their teeth while reading this thread. I would like to know what male magicians the female members of the Café find attractive and why. Then we'll have the inside track!

It depends on the person performing it and his performance style, just like anything else.
I'm sure you can get all the girls you want by showing a Stamp collection, if you do it the right way.
You can appear as a dork while doing magic, or you can appear cool, it is totally up to you, magic doesn't work for picking women up, you are the one that do.

If you ever read the book Magic by William Goldman (or saw the movie), the main character gets the girl by doing the You Do As I Do effect and presenting it as a meeting of souls.

This thread is cracking me up. Waite till you get married. I know a lot of magicians wives hate magic. Many wouldn't pick a card to save their magicians life so to speak.

In Mathematical terms, this is not an "if and only if" Theorem. It's one way. Just like money.
Seriously though. Logan said it the best. Jay Sankey just released a DVD on this topic and there was a big debate going on. I think people took it the wrong way. Jay was not trying to teach you how to pick women with magic. He was trying to teach magic that helps you approach women. Just like other people use jokes, vrooooming their luxurious cars... But we have another option. But as many have said, it's the way you approach it. It has to be more nonchalant. You can't perform magic with the aim to pick up girls. If it works, then great, if it doesn't... well better luck next time.
It would be interesting to hear the female magi's experiences.
And btw, it's the UTMOST TRUTH that women react the most as compared to men. There was this girl once that gave me a very odd look that I cannot forget. What I forgot was the effect I was doing. Most probably a simple paddle effect with a lighter. Priceless.
Yours,
Ivan

LOL some people might dislike me for this...but look at Blaine...he dated some hot models and actresses and stuff...when I ask women why do you like Blaine, they say, "he is mysterious and amazing."
When I do a effect for a female I'm interested in...I never make the first move... cause you should never come off like your using your magic to get a girl..
I say just let it happen... if it don't happen at that moment...it might happen next time they see you...or they might tell a friend about you...but I bet after the effect, they will remember you out of the other 5 guys who tried to get there number that day...trust me.
Try this...this is from an actual experience... one day I was on the E train..in Queens, New York...I seen a girl that I though was cute...so I was practicing some cuts with my card...and I noticed she was glancing over...so I culled the queen of heart second from the top..and I think I had a 8 of club on the top...I gave the deck a spring to further get her attention ...then I went to in a shape shifter pointed towards her ...boy did her jaw drop...lol...my stop came then I just hoped off the train whistling. Lol...I bet if I ever see her again she will definitely remember me.

It's true, it does get you noticed. But, its just an extension of you - if you're ugly, smelly and boring, knowing a few tricks won't help.
That said, I haven't had a problem! (despite clearly being smelly - all marines are!)

The way I see it, you either have it or you don't. Magic or not.
If you are the type of guy who usually has no problems approaching a woman, who has the right sense of style and is handsome enough to attract her, then you will be successful with women whether you do magic for her or not.
Doing a few tricks or sleights may add a touch of charm to your personality, which can mean a lot to most women. Now I did say charm, not clowning or entertaining. Most magicians do not come across as charming when they perform a magic trick.
There are many different things that women are attracted to. Just because you can do a couple of great tricks does not mean that a woman will want to date you (or be seen in public with you for that matter - no offense, but if you wear "magicians clothes" such as a "magic" tie when you are trying to meet women, then you should start by changing your wardrobe, unless you want to let her know you are a magic geek before you even show her a trick).

First, what's with this preoccupation with weapons body?
I've heard like 5 people mention what a stud he is. Which, to be fair, you are.
grrrrrrrowl.
Second, it's important to remember you can't use magic as a replacement for personality/sincerity when you try to meet women. I'm sure every guy who's got a woman doing magic could probably have done it without the magic, or at least come close.
Next, never go up to a girl and say you wanna see magic? Nerdy! Let her make the first move. In a lounge setting, doing some fancy cuts (assuming their fluid and relaxed. If it looks like your trying, it wont work. Because this why you can scope the room and if people are watching it looks like what your doing is nothing for you. which makes them wonder what else you can do...)
When someone approaches you and asks if you do magic, say no. But you do know one little thing. Check this out.
Do some magic.
Finally, when Sankey put out Firestarters, (which gives you magic and tips for picking up women) didn't people say what a stupid and sad idea it was?
But yet we're still talking about it.
In summary: How much do you bench weapon? Yummy.

When I was single, I found that the best technique for getting women to pay attention to me was to hang out with uglier guys...too bad none of my friends fit that criterion.
Um, Scott, are you suggesting that the guy in your Avatar isn't you?

"I ask women why do you like Blaine"
That has to be the saddest thing I've heard in a long time, but I thought I'd try and ask some of my women friends.
Most of them didn't even know who Blaine was so I couldn't use their responses, but one long time friend said she liked him because he appeared to be retarded, and she worked in a group home.
There's no accounting for womens tastes.
