I have a wand that unscrews into 2 pieces. I don't want the tips to sratch up so I was wondering where to get a case for it.
Theambitiouscard is offering me a custom made bag but I was thinking that I could get a case like the magicmakers golden 3 shell game is in. Can you please help me find one of those? Thank you |

You might also want to consider a cigar case.

If you go to a jewellers shop they sell hard necklace cases these are ideal for the wands (they are like a large version of of a flip top ring box, ) have a band to hold the wand steady and the wand fits prefectly).
http://www.goldenmine.com/index.asp?Page......mp;mod=1 That isn't the one that I have, but just so you have an idea what to look for. Best bet is to stick your wand in your pocket and wander around a few shops, just to make sure it fits. |

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Joe Porper's cases yet. Porper's specialty is making cases for pool cues, however, his wands are great too. His wands screw in half and go into a custom built case. The case has two sections which keep the wand sections from hitting each other during transport. http://www.porperoriginals.com

I'm sure that Master wand craftsman Tabman would make a great case at a reasonable price.

I always use a velvet bag, use the same wand for the last five years without a scratch..
If you had a precious thing that could never be replaced, there truly was only one would you not cherish it everyday?.

I too have a velvet bag. It has a small drawstring at the top. It came with my TW ebony wand.
Looks and feels nice. Protects perfectly.

How about a glasses case with some padding in it.

Fish,
I really don't think a case for glasses is big enough to hold it. He's not talking about the cheap little plastic ones. He's talking about the nice expensive wooden one.

That's cool Fish! If you want to protect your wand thow, you should probably invest in one of those wand bags with padding in them. They fit nicely into a coat pocket!

That is good munch but then there is the possibilty that the brass ends of the wand will hit each other, I want something that separates them

The wand bags, have little indented seperations in the badding with velcro that locks them down. If you invest in one of those, you won't have to worry about your brass tips hitting eachother.

Are wand such "holy" relicts, that they have to be put in a case? I have my wand in the same bag that my cups and balls are in.

I have a rather large collection of wands and have found that a nice drumstick bag works well to keep them together, protected, and ready to use.

I can understand anyone that has a Thomas Wayne wand or a Porper wand wanting to have a case for it. It's just like having a nice set of cups that you don't smash a wand against. Why not keep your wand in the nicest condition possible?

Why not make a bag? They are not that hard to do. The bag that I made for my C&B set is of blue velvet, lined with black satin. It is also a change bag!
If you want a lined bag, simply cut both materials, inner and outer, to a size that will hold the wand, once the sides are seamed. Place the two fabrics face to face and sew them together along the edges. Turn the opening and sew a rim that will allow you to put a draw string into it. Turn the entire bag right side out and insert the draw string. Use two draw strings to make the bag close evenly, allowing you to tie it shut if needed, then tie the ends of the draw strings together so that you have two independent loops with which to close the bag. To make it into a change bag, simply double over a piece of satin and stitch it up both sides, then sew it against the satin liner as you sew up the edges of the bag. Easy! Sewing bags is not a difficult proposition, it just takes a bit of time and logical thinking. I produce wands, but I do not include boxes or storage bags, for I am trying to keep the price of the wands down. Most bags, depending upon the size, could be made with less than $10 worth of fabric. |

Brett Sherwood now makes beautiful 2 piece wands and he sells an extra leather case as well. I think $25.
