Has anyone got these DVDs? And is the material on them hard or easy to perform?

Most of the effects aren't that hard to to perform. With some of the harder tricks though, you will need to master some more difficult sleights (sylvester pitch, striking vanish etc). Not too hard.
I'd give it ***/***** (5 being the hardest) |

On the Spot is a good investment. There are a lot of impromptu stuff taught here which gets strong reactions from audiences when done well. There may be a few challenging sleights (like the watch steal, loading a coin under a spectator's watch, pitch and ditch, all around vanish, etc.) involved, but like all magic practice is the only way to get these sleights almost second nature to you.

Who's the producer of those DVDs, eg. where's the best place to buy them from?
I failed to locate that on the net.. (Don't point me to Penguine..I'll never buy anything anymore from them again, one time was enough!!!)

The DVD version of On the Spot is sold exclusively by Penguin Magic, I havn't seen the VHS version out lately. They might have discontinued the tapes to make way for the DVD.

I suggest you get his "Off the Cuff" first because some of the sleights that are used in "On the Spot" are explained in the first video I mentioned.

Jeremy,
Where can Werner get it if it's not sold exclusively by Penguin? The other sites I've checked doesn't have it or have discontinued its distribution.

The only sleight you have to use there is the Sylvester pitch.

Woops, my mistake. I noticed the Penguin logo at the top of the DVD so thought that it was an exclusive. Looks like they produce the DVDs and then sell them to other dealers. Cheaper to buy from Penguin though

This set is one of the very best.
I am very disappointed that one would have to resort to purchasing it from penquin. that is sad. very nice impropmtu stuff. greg wilson demonstrated the sylvester pitch on the video (I think) but also in person at his lecture. I will tell you that though I think he has some fantastic skills, his syl pitch is nothing like the real thing and does not come close to comparing with the real thing. not even close. if you want to see it done correctly, get the sylvester pitch video or dvd if it exists. it will blow you away. dan (sylvester) is pitching eggplants, jumbo coins, etc. and you don't see them. the body language is much different, the movements of the hands are much more natural. plus dan is a very unique individual. back to the topic. On the spot is fantastic and a must have for a beginner and intermediate magician. I just hope you can pick it up somewhere respectable.

I purchased "On the Spot" looking for some impromptu magic and the video is one of the best I have ever seen. Greg not only explains the movements extremly well but the video is fun to learn and watch.

"On the Spot" and "Off the Cuff" are must-haves for impromptu magic. While the effects they contain do not, for the most part, require complicated moves, they do require a LOT of practice to make them look smooth and natural....it is harder than it looks, which is a tribute to Gregory Wilson. He's amazing!
