Thanks to all who have taken the time to write their comments about my new book in the book review section. I am deeply grateful for your positive feedback and kind remarks.

For Café members only, I will continue to include with each book, a genuine old silver dollar size Chinese coin until my supply of coins runs out.
Feel free to PM me or email me if you have any questions about the book. My web page listed below summarizes the contents and includes pictures from the book and a pdf of the color dust jacket. Also look for my ad running in the September Genii.

I wanted to thank you as well, Larry...the Chinese coin makes a better practice coin than my Ike Dollar coins!

Gratefully,

Thanks Doug, Mitch, and Peo.
These old Chinese coins look like silver, but are made from some ferrous material since they can be attracted by a magnet (many possiblities there). They are also lighter than a comparable silver coin which may make some moves a little easier to do. Thanks again to all for your support and please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about the book.

As mentioned by others the Chinese coin provided is perfect for practicing the sleights taught in this fantastic book. In the book review area I went into some detail about the first 7 chapters so I won't repeat it here. I'm working on Boomerang Coins and 4 Coins to Pocket. That Flying Changeover Palm move is so sweet. As much as I wish Larry success with the book, I secretly hope as few people as possible buy it so the material remains more exclusive.

Regarding the above, "I secretly hope as few people as possible buy it so the material remains more exclusive..."
I have to agree, somewhat, Boxjumper...this material is SO good...I hate to share it! LOL!

However, I AM glad Larry released this to the magic world, as I could never have found the answers to years-long questions on my own...I mean...just the retention stuff is worth the price of the book! Plus, I found little things I've adapted to moves I've already been doing...i.e. waving your hand over the empty palm, and loading a coin...I've BEEN doing that for years, but Larry's given me a much more efficient way...and it WORKS! I think this will go down in magic history as one of the great coin books, in my opinion.

I will never part with this book...

Thanks again for everyone's support. I'm working on a CD of MPG video clips to go with the book that will show how the sleights and some routines should look to the audience. This will not explain how to do the moves. It will be sold only to prior and current purchasers of my book for a nominal amount (my cost of media and postage). I will make an announcement when the CD is available.

Larry,

My coin magic is still rather primative. I can FP, CP, and TC. Fair shuttle pass and PTP change. My retention vanish stinks. Do you think your book is a little advanced for me, or will it work for beginners?

Hi Gene,
The book is not for beginners but it sounds like you are not a beginner. The book is self contained with everything explained and no need to refer to some other book or source. 3 retention vanishes of my own are taught in step-by-step detail using sharp b/w photos (315 photos in the book). I can guarantee that you will have a very good retention vanish after studying the book. If you don't, send back the book and I'll refund your money.

Hi Larry.
My wife is picking my copy up today, while she's in Cooperstown (which you know). I can't wait. It's been a long week. Jeff

Larry,

I love your book, its well made and clearly to the point. Having said that, I EAGERLY await your news about the video CD to accompany the books description. Pesonally, I find video's easier to understand, especially when it comes to duplicating the necessary subtle moves missed by a still photo.

Cheers!

Dan

I decided to buy the book as soon as I read about it. Although I had made a rule not to buy any more stuff without seeing a review. I'm very glad I broke my rule!
I look forward to a video CD. The only problem that I have with the book (and books on magic in general) is that I don't know "what good looks like", and I am not skilled enough always to figure it out. A view of a real pro's working of the sleights or routines would be the icing on the cake.
By the way, for anyone who hasn't seen the book yet, the explanations and photography have set new standards.

Jeff- Sorry I didn't get to meet your wife. I'm in NYC right now but my secretary called me to say she gave her the book and coin.
...
Dan- Glad you like the book. Take your time with it. I'm working on the CD right now.
...
Bob- Thanks for taking a chance with my book. I really appreciate your favorably mentioning the explanations and photography. The 315 photos were taken from thousands of shots trying to capture the essence of each move. I read the book cover to cover at least a hundred times, continually revising the text and correcting mistakes, before sending it to the printer. The whole project took about a year. When it was done, I couldn't look at the book for a week. I tried to explain the mechanics of the sleights with an anatomic precision as one might find in a surgical or medical textbook. This was a labor of love and my editor/photographer Esther Miller helped make it all possible.
...
Gene- That was fast.

¡Wow! I haven't been able to put your book down since my wife got home. Of course she had to torture me by saying that she'd forgotten to pick it up.
At a time when much of what we see is just "slapped together" for a quick sale, it's a great pleasure to hold such a work of art in my hands. I look forward to really working through 21st Century Coin Mechanics step-by-step.
Thanks, so much, and I'll keep an eye out for you next time I'm in Cooperstown. Jeff
PS...And thanks for the wild looking Chinese coin. My son, Jonah, was born under the sign of the dragon.

As a magic book lover and collector I was both honored and thrilled to receive copy #1 of Larry's book. I would have been just as thrilled with the book however if I ended up with copy #382 or #426. For those who haven't seen it yet it is beautifully produced and contains knock-out coin magic. I haven't been this impressed with a book dealing with coin magic since Kaufman put out Expert Coin Magic and Coinmagic. If coin magic is your thing I can't imagine not owning this book.

Thank you so much Mitch for the kind words. To be mentioned with those great coin books is an honor.
...............
I just received a large shipment of CDs and mailers. I'm working on recording video clips for the CD.
...............
If you're in the Cooperstown area, you can catch me performing at The Coachman Restaurant in Springfield off route 80. It's near the Glimmerglass Opera. I'll be doing strolling magic from 6-8 PM Saturday Oct 1. Cards, ropes, rings, sponges, and what did I forget...oh yeah coins.

Hi Pachin,
Of the 11 original effects in the book, 10 are done stand-up. Most are suitable for strolling magic. I'm planning on using 3 of the effects this Saturday at the Coachman Restaurant (Boomerang Coins Ch. 17, Digestible Coins Ch. 19, and Lucky Chinese Coin, Ch. 21). None of the effects or sleights require sleeving, lapping, or any body work. The angles are also very good which is a plus when working in crowded venues.

By all the things peoplesayd it must be a genuine masterpiece, but unfortunatelly I can't get hold of it for I live in Brazil, and the magic accessories here in my city are scarse to none!!
Congratulations on your great achievement and may it bring the greatest success of your life!!!!!!

Thanks for the link, but the truth is that none of those reviews speak about the tricks themselves- just the moves. I'm sure your book is wonderful, but I just want a little confirmation about the routines themselves before I buy it.
