This is to folks who have silver shifters and the copenetro item as well.
I like that trick. A lot. Late last night it hit me that it might be possible to make the thing MORE mysterious if the coins could appear SILENTLY. So before plunking down a hundred dollars just to get started I figured to ask here if someone has gotten the thing to work with their silver shifter? I have no problem doing a switch our AFTER the appearances, and might even go for a mirror glass in the method somewhere, BUT I still NEED the coins to appear in SILENCE. To those who have the items, do you think the thing would work with silver shifters? I thought about asking for a clear latex glass, but figured that would be a long shot. Thanks in advance.

The Silver Shifter I have is very soft. I have not attempted to put one into my Copentro. I have a feeling that it will jam up. I also have one other concern. I'll PM you.

Jon,
Isn't the sound of the coins appearing in Copentro the focus of the trick, especially for audience members who might not catch the flash of silver as the coin lands in the glass? What do you feel that silence will do for the effect? Curiously, Jerry |

Imagine the fun when doing this closeup, coins appear one at a time in a glass without any noise.

Paul,
Good call on the Walnut trick. I've been playing with that idea since before the SS came out. The interesting thing is that the Walnut effect is not visual. With the opaque cover over everything, it's all about sound, as perhaps it should be. On the other hand, there's an old T. Neslon Downs idea for producing coins inside a glass with a simple wave of the wand. With a SS and a narrow, fluted Champaigne glass, the coins can appear visibly, and silently in the middle of the glass. An interesting effect, spooky, even. I suppose the question is whether the invisible appearance of the coin, or the visible appearance plays up the silence factor. Or could one do both in one routine? The "Walnut" setup without the cover would make for a very interesting appearance of a coin in a glass, under a glass.

Almost like a visible cylinder and coins without the cylinder ( Coins vanish and reappear under the cylinder without a sound).

The Visible Cylinder and Coins will be done on a future Penn and Teller Special where everyone in the audience will have a folding coin and a bottle.

I'm curious to know if anybody found a way to silently VANISH the coins for Copenetro. Is it me or is that stand a bit "talkative?"

Mike's right I saw him do the walnut trick with coins at the NYC Seminar. I did not mention it in my review because I wasn't sure he wanted that out of the bag. David Roth told him that he thinks it was too good to share!
I really enjoyed the routine. I perform the walnut trick myself, it never occured to me that you could do it with coins until I saw Mike do it! |

Curtis, as a Vet you know I can't let you stuff another cat in the bag, but I'll bring you a brand new cat carrier if we end up doing the Seminar in Hawaii! Before we get there, however, I think that soon you will see advertising for another Seminar (or two!). Keep watching, as we will do our best to talk Gallo into teaching the walnut trick with coins again at the next Seminar (unless Roth gets hold of him first- its THAT good!)

New Yawk Style at Tony Maroni's.
Chicago Style at Godfathers. California Style at California Pizza Kitchen. And that's JUST the chain resturants. We GOT pizza. And seafood like you can't get on the right coast. Salmon that's never been above 32 degrees in it's LIFE baby! And a small farm in the middle of the state that raises American Kobe beef if you like hamburgers. This is where the great chefs come when they get sick of SoCal. |
