I would love a review of this too. This is one of the many effects I have been obsessed with over my years in magic.

I just pre-ordered it. I will give my honest opinion when I receive it in about 2 weeks.

Is the download available now??? if it is, I might just go ahead and get the download instead of the dvd! I think the 4mbps speed would get it to me quicker than the dvd..and I can author my own if I want stored on DVD

I posted this in the other forum, but I'll repost it here so more people see it. By the way, I chose the download option and the file is about 300 MB in size.
I just finished watching the new release from Expert Magic on the Card through Window, and my initial impression is, “D***, this is good stuff.” Eric James has decided to put together a compilation of different methods for the Card through Window effect, much like I decided to do a few years back. Eric has come up with a great variety of original methods in order to create different card through window effects. While I won’t go into too much detail on all of the effects, let me just say this. The demo video is truthful. Everything you see in the demo can be done. The first effect taught is a basic card through window effect. While I say basic, the instruction is very thorough and the effect itself is a step up from other basic methods. After this, Eric goes on to teach a variety of other more advanced methods, each which have their pros and cons. One of the underlying principles behind several methods is absolutely ingenious. I laughed out loud when I said this, because not only has Eric come up with a way to do an effect I only imagined in my manuscript, he uses it in ways I never even dreamed of. The gimmick will only cost you about 10 dollars, and I believe it is far better than any of those on the market. It will take a setup, but it is worth it. I have purchased many versions of the card through window - Peter Marvey’s version, John Kennedy’s version, David Forrest’s CTW, and Meeting Point by Mago Anton. In all honesty, this setup is the best for me, because there is no need for cover and it can be done in broad daylight. Eric also teaches a number of other effects related to the plot, such as Card through Table, Card into TV, Card into Cell phone, and Card into Wall. The last effect taught, a method of passing a card through a window and then pulling it back through, is almost completely impromptu. You can probably tell by this point that I am impressed and pleased with this offering. I would recommend you pick this up if you have an interest in performing the classic effect of the CTW, and want an arsenal of methods to unleash upon your audience. |

What impressed me was when he had one card and made it visually go through the window. How difficult is this particular effect?

Pezgod,
The files were Windows Media Files. Corey, It's not that difficult. There are actually a couple of different methods that you could use to accomplish this, depending on your situation. |

How practical is the part where the card was passed through the the window with the specs on the opposite side? This looks amazing if not impossible... I haven't been this excited since Dave Forrests CTW!

it's an expert magic exclusive it looks like... just like color fusion was (or at least started out as) I'm not sure who else would be carrying the dvds when they come out in 1-2 weeks. |

Hey guys,
I just watched it and mixed emotions are surging through my body. It's really great stuff. I was only initially upset because my card through window used the exact same principle, but got over it because my version was not quite as refined. I'll definitely be using this version from now on. Eric answers a lot of 'what ifs' in the DVD which is a great touch, and even has a very bold signed card through window which is almost impromptu. That effect is simple to do, but you need a lot of spectator management. Great stuff Eric, the many applications in the DVD bring so many possibilities. Guys, you'll never guess what the gimmick for the general effects inside is. That little wonder. Sheer genius. Something that bothers me is the initial setup for the gimmick. It can be as fast as a minute but it's just what you have to bring around that might make it impractical, as well as potentially damaging to a wall. I'm sure there are ways around this though and there are alternative CTW methods in the DVD, sadly not quite as visual as the Ultimate Card Through Window highlight. Another thing is that he does not talk about getting the card off the window for the Ultimate Card Through Window broad daylight effect. Of course with a little thinking that could be solved as well. Those minor things aside, there's definitely something for everyone in here. I've never seen a more practical, visual, and cheaper card through window effect ever. For so many many methods and ideas it's truly a bang for your buck. I highly recommend this. Huron
