Hi Al! Welcome to the Café!
Say, after reading some of your thoughts on lapping, I was just curious as to what are your thoughts on Slydini and his techniques? Thanks!

Tony has inspired much of my thinking about magic.
However, he is different than me. I do not wave my hands around, raise my hands to my face to make a kissing motion and so on. So, although his concepts are sound, they do not fit me. This is particularly true in lapping. His technique is to hit the table like it is a hot plate. If I did that, it would tend to draw attention to my hand. I opt for my hand to rest on the table and then move as appropriate. I went to see Slydini early in my career in magic. I particularly remember his one coin routine. It floored me. The coin appeared and disappeared like it was a little imp. As time passed and I discovered his handling, I could not believe such simple motions could be so effective. I felt that I would never be able to do them as he did. Actually, I cannot. When I do some of that stuff my mind thinks, "This really doesn't work". So I hold myself back. Al Schneider
Magic Al. Say it fast and it is magical.
