I've never purchased a card-through-window method before, so please keep that in mind while reading this review. Not to put too fine a point on it, however, I was decidedly unimpressed with this DVD. Not because the ideas used were not unique (although the first two chapters were rather obvious), but because I do not think that the truely unique concepts were worth $45.
Here's the problem. The Ultimate CTW method is rather impractical in that it requires EXTENSIVE setup, and I would be hesitant to perform it on another person's property without prior consent. Further, the equipment you would have to carry around with you makes it largely useless as an "impromptu" effect. One of the biggest beefs that I had with the whole DVD is that, for the most part, the spectator cannot retrieve the card themselves. In my opinion, this is what truely sells the effect. Further, the methods provided need a LOT of spectator management. Don't bother with this one. While watching, all I could think was "I just paid $45 for THIS?" While I don't have a great deal of CTW experience (ie, none), I'm positive there are better methods out there. |

Woops; wrong forum. Doesn't appear as though I can move it myself. I've re-posted to the DVD forum. Sorry about that.
