Hey todd I read the small bio and you sound popular as a magician. You should give blaine and angel a run for there money haha. Id liek to know more about the book I hear your working on, Can you tell me anything about it?
I have a question to, at school I was doing magic and for example I bent a spoon "with my mind" and I float stuff for them and levitate and stuff, and they really think m the real thing. Ive decided to go along with it, and now they like really believe I'm magical. Is that a bad thing?? Because when I do magic people really belive its real magic, but if someone else did it its like there like naaa its not real. And another thing I get sooooo mad when I'm doing card magic and some one grabs a card and flips it over or grabs the deck, and it really drives my temper up the wall is there a way to controll this or should I just quit doing magic for them and go to a diffrent person? Peace- Aaron |

Aaron: I personally think it's a good thing that people think you're magical and for them to wonder whether it's real or not. For my audience, I'd rather be seen as a guy that just maybe has tapped into something truly magical than a guy that bought some tricks at the magic store!
As for controlling spectators, you have a few choices. One is obviously to avoid any tricks that don't leave you clean at the end or use gimmicks of any kind! The second is to learn to control your audience so there isn't an opportunity for them to grab anything...write out a script for your trick, including movements, and I think you'll quickly realize where to place and hold objects and what to say. For really good advice on this kind of performance situation, check out Eugene Burger's books (Mastering the Art of Magic, The Performance of Close-Up Magic, and The Experience of Magic)! |
