I have been practicing your simple matrix routines and really enjoy them. I especially get a big response to the backfire routine where the spectators see multiple (2) coins protruding from under the final card and in an instant, there is only one left. The rest had apparently backfired in a single instant. What was your inspiration for this climax.

Also, thanx for the great coin routines. They really give me someting to work on and towards.

I don't know exactly where the inspiration came from regarding the backfire routine. Maybe Paul Gertner was the first to play with the plot. My reason for creating this routine was to get away from the typical pick up move in most matrix routines. That is where you are picking up the coin under the card to make it vanish. Sometimes the wise ones would figure out that part. Not very often but sometimes. This routine completely rules out that possibility. Of course the backfire is a complete surprise. I am glad you like the routine. It is one of my favorites. I think a backfire is better than the traditional finish. Besides if you do the routine correctly the spectator should think that the four coins are in the final corner. If you remember I make the statement at the end which is " Now there are how many coins here?" They answer Four. That means they believe the coins are there. Don't you just love the thought process?
