This book sounds very interesting.
Apparently it describes how to take a borrowed wine glass and, as it stands in total isolation, make it visably bend. Anyone own this? And if so, what do you think? Is the above effect as epic as it sounds? Many thanks, Gonz

I own the book. I think it is very good and would recommend it's purchase.
The effect you mention is in the book. It can be done, But the effect requires significant preparation and must be performed in a certain venue because it does have angle issues. Frankly, I think that if you buy the book you will be distracted by other effects that are far more practical to perform. Gianni |

Hello, Gianni is right, for me the Teleport Envelope is worth the price of the book!
Infinite possibility!! I’m sure you’ll get somthing in this book and not just for the mentalist.

This is an excellent book but don't buy it just for the trick with the wine glass or you will be disappointed. There are many other gems that are much more practical.

Hi,
The book is ok (I don't use anything from it), but there are better books on the market. Yours faithfully Dan Kirsch |

Dan,
Then you need to read between the lines and re-read the book closer. There are little nuances and extras that skimming and not reading closely will be missed and they are the real genius of Ted Lesley's work. Believe me, there are few books with as much gold as his. Dan,
I have to go with Paul on this one. If you think "Paramiracles" is just OK, then (respectfully) you either have to reread it, or you are not ready for it. Korneille said that the "Teleport Envelope" is worth the price of the book. I've had working pro's tell me is worth the price of a career! It's FULL of gems that Liz and I use in every performance. Regards, Ted (Leondo) |

I have to agree--this is one of my favorites.
However, to answer the original question--the description you give of the wine glass effect is not wholly accurate, and it IS a very difficult, complex and expensive routine. You probably won't be able to make it yourself, and buying the marketed version is VERY expensive, indeed, but a MIRACLE in Ted's hands. But there is so much more gold in this book! The Teleport Envelope, as already stated, and his headline prediction has made quite a reputation for me in my area. Highest recommendation.

This book is pure gold, I bought it for the wine glass but was more impressed by the headline predictions etc. Teds attention to detail is amazing. The section on getting specs to force cards on themselves is that made this book one of my favourites.

Some of my very favorite books are ones from which I don't do even one trick! But like Ted Lesley's book, the THINKING behind the tricks, the construction, the routining, the misdirection, the psychology, etc--these are the things that are applicable to many other performance pieces, and that will make you a better magician if you will but take the time to study and "dig" for them!

Hello all...
I was wondering if "Paramiracles" or "Teleport Envelope" are on either of his new video/dvd series. Sorry to change the topic. Thanks Chad |

This book is my personal favorite. The only books to come close to it are Paul Harris' Art Of Astonishment 1-3. I really think you'll gain a lot of method, application and mystifing gems from this Book of Books!!!

Stephen and others,
The book is very good but it is not for beginners! If you have not been in magic for more than 5 years you need to concentrate on other books. It is not so much the effects but the presentations, psychology, and experience that is presented. If you do not have a lot of experience yourself, then much of the book will not be decipherable to you, at many levels. This is not meant to be a bad thing but unless you have digested things like the Jinx or 13 steps to mentalism, then you will be dissappointed by this book. Sergeant |

The dissertation on the CT in the book is worth its weight in gold too. It's basically a post graduate course in CT that really makes CT looks like a real miracle!!!

Great book. From card forces to reputation pieces, they're all in. Easy to read, and the explanations are clear. Bending Wine Glass is a treatise by itself!

The real magic of this book is in Ted's excellent explantations. He goes into the details that too many books leave out. His out for a CT written in a foreign language to many other bizare situations that real performers may very well come into one day. He has spent a lot of time refining his tricks until they become magic. This was a book I picked up years ago and it is still one that I pick up and reread and relearn from all the time.

I totally agree with the above posts in all aspects... BUY THIS!
In my opinion... one of the top ten hardcover mentalism books... I also agree with the RE-RED & RE-READ advice... something new hits home each time I do...

The investment in this book will pay back dividends. Lesley has a lovely flow to what he does and there is always someting more to discover about performance every time you pick the book up.
