Hi All,
Just wondering what tricks, if any, we are 'free' to give out... Some trade shows, for example, will have 3 Card Monte Giveaways or Ring on Springs. I guess my question is: If you were to teach someone something, what can you teach, if anything? Are there certain tricks that are public domain... I'm thinking of giving away a 'free trick' in some promotional material I'm sending out but am, obviously, not willing to give away any real secrets. Any Suggestions? Thanx! Jamie D. Grant

Hi Jamie,
I picked up a book a while ago called Book of Bar Amusements. As you probably know these bets (for lack of a better term) utilize a variety of items that a magician would use; matchbooks, shot glasses, keys, staws, toothpicks, coins etc. but they are more of puzzle to figure out. You could include something like this, without revealing magical secrets, and they are still very entertaining. The book is published by Three Rivers Press and the author is Cheryl Charming. It has a ton of really great routines. That's what I usualy do when someone (really-really) asks me to show them something. Hope this helps.. David Paul

There are so many free sites that it should not make much difference. Just call your local webmaster...and use an alias.

Is anyone going to cry "exposure!".
I for one am not, but I was curious. It makes an interesting debate. Tough to tell you what to teach. If I tell you "saltshaker thru table" and somene does it in their act, then I am wrong.

Jumping rubber bands is a safe bet and the bands are cheap.
