Many of the old timers called the side steal the side slip. It is a useful move in card magic and there is many things that can be done with it.
Vinny's modern card magic and his squeeze palm is also an outstanding move and one of the reasons is that you can do it with several cards at one time. His top change is the only top change that will fool a video camera. His card and coin work is outstanding. Thanks again Vinny for showing me and Café members your cutting edge close up work! And I look forward to the DVD's.

Vinny,
Glad to hear the DVD is back on track. I had one ordered when you had to stop the first one. I'll be ordering again. I may also ask about your squeeze palm and espically your top change if they are not on the DVD. Vandy

I assume the LJ Angle Steal is a Jennings move? Is it in Jennings '67? That's on my list...I hear it's much better than the Maxwell book.

Vinny just sent me video of his two phase color change sequence for the ambitious card the card - a single card is pushed into the deck halfway and then changes. And then the changed card is put in face up and the deck is shook and it APPEARS face up on the top of the deck.
That was one beautiful move and Real MAGIC. I consider Vinny’s work with cards equil to and as important to card magic as the card work of Ed Marlo and Dai Vernon! Well done Vinny you just fooled the heck out of me! And I love it!

What's the difference between the LJ Angle Steal and the LJ Immediate Side Steal (the latter is a thing of beauty!)?

The cover for the side slip is the squaring of the deck with the right hand. The beauty of the side slip and Vinny's squeeze palm is that you can bring cards to the top one at a time in order. Or use Vinny's squeeze palm to do the work all at once with several cards.
This makes the move have the same VALUE as the pass. The side slip with the peak - the card is peaked and the deck is squared and the card is now on the top because of the side slip was done when the deck was squared. In other words there is no shuffle or cut control to get the card to the top in the pass/shift, side slip, and the Vinny squeeze palm.

Another thing about Vinny's Sqeeze Palm is that it is a great for ACR lovers. The Javelin Card move that Vinny created is one of the most visual ambitious card moves I have ever seen. I have several applications for this move. I found through experimentation that Vinny's Squeez Palm, has many uses for those who enjoy Gambling type magic!
I can't believe The Godfather is tipping the squeez Palm in the La Famiglia DVD. Then again, that's Vinny for you! Rannie Raymundo aka The Boss aka The Manila Enforcer

Great post rannie,
Thank you for posting it and also sending me the video links showing you doing your poker deal cull routine. It is a great video of you doing your well presented cull routine under tough impromptu conditions. Well done!

The squeeze palm can also be used as a multiple shift type of application. Very nice.

Does anyone know for sure which of Larry Jenning's books the mentioned conrtols can be found? I have Classic Magic but have not found them in it, although I have not been able to look through the entire book yet. I also want to add to the comments about Vinny's Squeeze Palm. It is as good as everyone has said and better. I think it is wonderful and can be worked into many, many other routines and applications, and like Rannie said, the Javelin Card IS one of the most visual Ambitious moves I have seen. It really looks like the card just pops to the top face up. Very wonderful stuff!! My thanks and regards to you Godfather Vinnie! You truly are a gentleman and a scholar as well as a heck of a nice guy!
Thanks, -Buddy |

I constantly use Marlo's "Deliberate Side Steal". I started practicing this move after hearing so much about it from Paul Cummins. I then got the Marlo's booklet to get the proper handling. However, it took me some time to finally feel confident and do it in public, since I was doing a move that I had never seen anyone performing it before, and was learning it from a book.

I have been studying and learning card magic at it's "BEST" ...I personally found Vinny's "SQEEZE PALM" to be one of the absolute best side steals out there.
Most of all..because it is "NOT" difficult to learn and "EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE" REALLY!!.... I guess a person would have to see it and understand it's mechanics to really appriciate this move....IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING!! GREAT JOB VINNY ... It's fantatic that you decided to show this on DVD !!!!!! Your Very Good Friend, MICKEY SILVER |
