You can't copywrite a title so you could call your film The Mechanic if you wanted, more than likely the title would change anyway once the marketing suits at the studio that owned your film got their hands on it. As far as The Mechanic being forgetable, if memory service it was Charles Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent, some of both of their's best work (which may not be saying much, but hardly unforgetable).
Best of luck with the script.

Looking back on my list, I also believe "The Cooler" and maybe even "Juice" have been used before. Legally though, you are correct. I could write a book called Moby Dick if I wanted to. I don't believe there would be any legal issue. And I actually LIKE the movie the Mechanic. I like Bronson and I liked that flick. I'm surprised anyone still remembers it. I haven't seen it in years myself. I remember Bronson reading the guys lips from long distance through binoculars!! Vandy

That's right Expert. It's all documented. I'll be watching the trades for any development deals with one of my titles.
Oh wait, dosen't everything here belong to Steve Brooks? Is he gonna get the money?? That's such a gyp. Vandy

I like revlovejoy's comment The Mechanic. My suggestion would be, "The Cold Deck"
or "Advantage Play" |
