Not actaully a silk question, but I think I am posting in the right forum, has anyone used the Quick Changing Bowtie that is currently on the market by Lex Schoppi?

I don't use it but read Steve Brook's review on it. Check his review section. He seemed very pleased with the kit.

I read Steve's review and watched the demo and liked what I saw even with the noticable hand behind the back. I see it as a great running gag during a routine.

James I don't have much comedy in my act at all but would love to use such a running gag. Unfortunately my current costumes also don't allow for that style tie. Otherwise I loved it! With the expense and preparation involved with some costume change effects, stuff like this is priced very fairly for such effect.

James,
Christian just bought one of these at the Winter Carnival from a "used magic" dealer. The quality is very good, and yes, there are some limitations, but the idea and technique are sound. I am going to take them to a magician/inventor friend of mine whose married to a seamstress (nice setup, huh?) for some possible re-engineering. PM me if you want some info, and we will have them with us when we are at SEAM in August. Scott Compton

I don't even use the bow tie onstage. I have used it at a formal pary for my rotc friends when we were all dressed in our class B jackets. It was great. I freaked out my commander of sabor guard by having my bow tie being red then saying no prob. then changeing to black.
