Hey all,
A friend of mine wants to put 2 white doves back into his act and he asked me if I could help him find a breeder in Las Vegas. I told him I would do my best. Does anyone know of any local Breeders here in Las Vegas? I would imagine there must be at least one, but I cant seems to track any down. He does want them to be white though. When I did a search on the Café I found nothing. Thanks so much guys, DJ |

This is the start of the right time of year to buy young white doves. Doves are not desert birds. You will likely have to buy them and have them shipped there over night. The US postal Service will do that and do a good job of it from almost anywhere in the continential USA.

I guess then it comes down to how badly your friend wants to add doves to his act. The shipping charges are nearly as much as the material needed for dove maintenance and care. Typically the shipping is only around $25. His alternative would be to find a breeder outside of las vegas and go pick them up.
He might want to contact Rick Thomas in Vegas. Rick generally answers E-mails the same day he gets them and he might be able to help since part of his act includes doves. It's worth a shot.

That's what we're saying. I assume you've looked in the phone book. You could also contact an aviary vet if there's one in Vegas or possibly an animal rescue organization.
Here's a link to a bird farm in Vegas. While they don't specialize in doves, they may be able to give you some leads in the area. http://lasvegasbirdfarm.com/ Here's another link to a list of bird breeders in Las Vegas. Again, not specializing in doves but they may be able to direct you to someone. http://www.birdsnways.com/birds/bradn.htm One more suggestion might be to contact a dove release company. These company's release doves at weddings. While they are really releasing white pigeon's, they may be able to help you as well. There are several in Vegas. Here's a link to one of them. http://www.vegasdoves.com/index.php3 Hope these help you.
