Heads up, Walgreen's is carrying two-pack Studs for $1.99.

Unfortunately, the new studs that they sell now aren't as good as the old studs.

The new studs are VERY soft card stock.

Soft? I thought the newer stock was slightly stiffer than the older ones! Certainly the ones I got when I was in Virginia last September were!

Best wishes

I'm gonna agree with Mike.Shots. I bought some new Studs and they were verrry flimsy. The old ones did have a thicker/better card stock, IMO.

Last time I was there, they were also carrying used casino playing cards for $.99 a pack.

Walgreens also has the bordered bees, and 4 packs of bikes which include 2 black bikes, and 2 red bikes.

The old studs were vastly superior. It seems like everytime they change the studs somehow the go down in quality. I bought 48 decks of the old color studs before they changed. The new studs are thicker, and have rougher edges. They take work well, and in my opinion are slightly stiffer.

Heres some pictures and info of each.

I agree with Card Conjurer's statement above. The new stud cards felt thicker and stiffer (although someone with a micronometer (if I recall correctly) compared them and said they had the same thickness).

Did anyone else write a letter/e-mail to WalGreens complaining the old ones were better? I did! They sent a form reply back a couple weeks later. It's the least I could do.

Ok, so I have had some time to play with these. They actually feel quite good once they are broken in. At a buck a pop you can't really go wrong.

My local Walgreens don't have them on sale. I would buy a few dozen of the new ones if they were $1 a piece, and use them extensively. Luckily I still have loads of the old studs. I still feel bad opening any of them even though I have over 50.

The individual decks are still $1.99 but they also had a two pack for $1.99(no idea why)....I had picked one double pack up to see if I liked them.

Ya, I bought 6 of the new studs right when they came out just to check it. I should have bought out all the walgreens close to me of their old studs when the switchover was happening.
This guy in the uk offered me 4.00 a pack for my 48 decks which I bought for $1 a pice originally. I couldn't bring myself to do it though because I didn't know If I would ever get anymore. Would have mad a lot of money.

I must say, I liked the softness of the cards, but they did feel a little "cheaper". I'll have to go get some more, and see how the new ones are.
