I too purchased The Joining back a few months ago. It is an excelent effect at an excelent price. It was a bit confusing at first but Jeff was great at clearing up any problems that I had.

The Joining may be wonderful, but I can't imagine many folks learning this directly from the PDF without a *great* deal of difficulty. The text is often unclear (e.g., "rotate your hand clockwise" when your point of reference is entirely unknown) and the photos are inadequate and over-pixelated.

That said, Jeff *was* kind enough to provide a very helpful supplemental video clip(!)

How does PINNACLE stand against the joining?

The Joining and Pinnacle are two different methods of showing a ring linked on a rubberband. The big difference is in Pinnacle the ring always needs to be held by you. In The Joining the ring is freely shown linked on the band, unlinked and both items can be handed out.
