Well I do not want to tip the method of the switch, but it is good.
I had my pro-set up finished, works like a charm. Still no go on carpet though. I finally got my wife to try it today. She was nervous and she complained the shock hurt a little. Well 10 years of marriage and I Zapped her on the low setting I'm really a good husband after all. So for what it is worth people are going to react. I will make sure I explain that the spec is going to feel a blast of energy. Oh and the next time some tough cookie gives you the gears, switch to high and zap away. (just kidding really) magicmike30

I think many people that are looking at Electric Touch in a negative light (Just shocking people? So what?) are missing the potential of utilizing it in a larger routine, heck, even a card reveal becomes a miracle when, in the process of "reading" the spectator's mind, they recieve a shock, a burst of thought transfered from on person to another. There is a ton of potential in this product, just do a little thinking.

Thanks guys. It's great to see some post that are "on topic"!!!!!!
I think it is "bad form" for all of these people to get on the "electric touch" thread and talk about making your own. There is a private section for such things. We could at least show enough respect to the creators to keep those things to ourselves until the marketed products are out. If someone wants to sell their own.... do so! Go and market and give it a shot. If you want to make your own do that as well. I don't want any one person to feel personally attacked... It's just that all these threads seem to lose their focus and become self ingratiating. These threads are supposed to be about the topic, and serve to review (good or bad) the product at hand. REAL Information that is relevant and helpful would be a great place to start. There's a reason that all the threads seem to get locked. Please show some common decency Sean |

Extended "shocking": If you hold a pen in your hand or something else, can yo shock the spectator with the pen?

Yes, you can, but only if the item can be condutive. It was mentioned a while back about wands used to shock, if it had a metal canter and was exposed at each end, yeh. Forks, coins, jewellry will all work. magicmike30 could try it for us, and see if he still gets a shock?
Sean, we stopped 'making our own' in these threads long ago. Daz |

Yeah but you must admit that would be one heck of a mind boggiling effect.
It reminds me of a Bugs and Daffy episode when I was young where Daffy Duck did this incredible magic trick. But he could only do it once.

A friend of mine recieved his and we played with it last night. The DVD didn't really impress me much. I was most interested in lighting a flourescent bulb, and he didn't demonstrate that in the DVD. He did instruct how to do it, and even showed how to hold the bulb, but strangely stopped at that point and never actually lit the bulb. I would bet that it doesn't light it very strongly, maybe just a mild flicker?
The demonstrations that were done were okay, but nothing mind blowing. I do feel that this has some potential. Im not into shocking people, but I do think that moving paper, ashes, etc. may have some merit depending on the application (spooky) I ordered my own unit today, and when I get it I will put it throgh an extensive test in order to see how much potential there is for lighting the bulb and other effects. |

I am curious, when you are being charged, what happens to the stuff in your pockets? Meaning you wallet holding your Credit Card, etc, your cell phone, etc?
Would they be damaged?
Think outside the box, cos people are all thinking inside now!! - ClouDsss

This has been talked about before, if you search for it. I think credit cards wont be, but what happens when you get charged by static? You don't worry about it then, I wouldnt worry. I have handled phones when I am charged and there have been no problems.

By the way. Props to Aaron. I just ordered this last week and here it is.
The unit looks really good and the activation mechanism is well done. This is a discrete unit theat it easy to wear, however you'll definitely want to take advantage of the "pro" set-up, Which is a bit more involved than I would like.

Wait til you try it on a solid surface ! hah !
I seriously, seriously doubt this will do any damage to cellphones or anything of that nature. Firstly, cell phones have a plastic non conductive housing. For what reason would the current flow through it anyway ? Electricity always takes the path of least resistance. That's why birds and squirrels can "safely" sit on even an uninsulated high voltage wire on a telephone pole.. the current has nothing to "gain" by passing through the bird, it's much easier for it to continue passing through the wire, which is meant to be a conductor.. -However- if they should just happen to touch another wire or part that is grounded, they become a short to ground in effect, the electricity will now become "interested" in passing through them, and you wind up with roasted varmint ! I tried the fluoresecent light thing myself with a 12" blacklight, all I got was a bit of flickering, like it was almost trying to turn on, but it was a pretty weak flickering at that. You'd need full power to make the most of that effect, and that might be why he didn't show it on the DVD - it's probably not the kind of thing that would look impressive on video.
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.

Just curious if any one else is having a battery problem. I got mine today from Aaron at Magic Depot...(just ordered a week ago or so) That's the good news. The not so good news is that the batteries appear to be going out after about 90 minutes of use on and off ... just playing with it. Couldn't have been but about the same as 20 or so shocks.... The indicator light is VERY weak and can't do anything I was doing. I am looking for some more 12v's. I am hoping this is just a fluke and I got some weak batteries... they were already installed by the way.
Prior to that, it was working fine... hadn't used on a victim...er I mean spectator yet, but I was moving water about and little pieces of torn up paper towel etc.... If the batteries hold up... This could be pretty cool! Bk |
