Smagic and Richard:

It will be great getting the chance to see you both at this years convention. I reallylook forward to it.I will be once again helping run the Stars of Tomorrow show and that has always been a joy for me. The kids do an amazing job and it is great to be able to help them backstage in any way that I can.

I too am hoping to meet and chat with many of the members on this board at the convention. I just wonder how the best way to identify oneself to other members would be? Maybe having a badge saying "I am a proud member of the Magic Café" with your name on it? Kyle, you've been to the conventions before. How do you get introduced to new folks attending?

I'll be there. Since I live in Louisville, I'd be nuts not to attend. But since magic is my hobby and not my vocation, I have to justify the time and expense. I'd like to say to my wife, "I may never get this chance again." But I know full well the S.A.M. /I.B.M. joint convention will be here in 2008. So I just tell her it's the biggest and baddest thing in the country for magicians and hope she is sympathetic.

Hope to see a lot of you here!

Snidini well I am a friendly type so I just am always introducing myself to folks around me. I am also involved a lot with the youth activities so I can usually be found wherevere the SYM events are being held at and also backstage helping run the Stars of Tomorrow show.

Everyone is given a name badge they must wear at all times to get into events. perhaps we can do something on the badge to idetify us to others that we are magic Café people and what our magic Café name is? That way we could have a system for anyone of us to know who each other are cause I know I tend to look a lot different without my red jacket from my avatar. hehe

Steve and Nell,

I hope to meet you guys as well. My wife kelly is very involved in the woman in magic website as well as magic divas so perhaps you might know her Nell. She goes by Poofersgrl. Kelly is busy trying to set a few things up with Luna Shimada and Arian Black.

If anyone wants to meet while at the convention or has other ideas on how we can dientify each other, please let me know.

Greetings all -- I will be there and I look forward to meeting you. Please do look me up and be sure to say HI.

The SAM Convention has always been a great event and is THE place to be in July every year, this year will be no exception. I am very excited about the talent that RG Smith has hired and I am very much looking forward to the Special Sessions that I've been working on. It's hard to wait until July, wish it were here now.

See you all there!

Kyle,

Yes, I know Kelly. She is very sweet. We're hopefully going to get a ladies breakfast planned or something along those lines. July is getting closer and I'm excited to see everyone in Louisville!

Kelly and I really look forward to being there again this year and meeting you both in person. Kelly and I will be active with the SYM events and the Stars of tomorrow show. It should be a great time. I will also be helping Jean with some of the shirt stuff as I have been working with her on designs for the convention etc. It should be a great time indeed.

Jim,

Good luck with the tape and the contest. You will want to get your tape into Paul Critelli pretty soon as I am sure he is excepting them but the deadline draws closer.

I hope to also get a chance to meet you while at the convention. There have been talks of some sort of way we can identify to each other anyone who is an active member to the Café while at the convention. It would be great to be able to identify people. I was thinking of something placed on our name badges but am open to any ideas.

I know there will be a lot of us from the Café there at the convention but a lot of times, people just do not recognize each other from our Café names or avatars.

Thanks Kyle,

Maybe we can get a little "MC" logo or sticker (or something) to stick in the corner of our badges?

Jim:

It will be great seeing you there. Actually the stickers are already designed and done and I will be bringing the MC stickers with me to the convention. Anyone who is a Magic Café member can go to the registration desk and pick up a sticker to place on their badge. We will also have a sheet of stickers on the board near the registration table for when the registration area is closed. This way you can take a sticker, attach it to your badge and every Magic Café member can identify each other this way.

Joseph:

I have heard so many great things about you and your act and I really look forward to meeting you in person and watching your contest act. Good lusck with everything and please let me know if I can be of any help or assistance to you. My pleasure.

Hello,
Joseph - I look forward to seeing again, as I'll be competing in the contest as well. I found some rubik cube style balls in a quarter machine near my house...I'll have to try my luck. I know you had mentioned them when we were at Abbott's.
Best of luck to all,

I was hoping there'd be some way to identify other Magic Café members at the convention. I'm thrilled to find out about the stickers. See you all in less than three weeks!!! (Can you tell I'm stoked?)

Phil,

I wanted a way for members to identify each other. The sticker idea came from Craig Dickson. I designed the the stickers and Craig was kind enough to print them out and mail them to me. We will have them available at the registration booth. the only thing people may want to do is to not only put the sticker on the badge, hbut perhaps write their Café screen name on the badge as well. Of course this is optional. Look forward to meeting you there.

Nathan,

Glad to know you will be at SAM too. It will be great to get to hang out again backstage. I will have to bring my Fakini Rubik Cube balls so we can work on some moves. I only will be using one of them in the act at SAM since the act can only be 10 mins. See you there!

Kyle,

Glad you heard good things about the Rubik's Cube Act. The lay audience seem to love it because it is very visual, fast pase, with several surprises. I'm looking forward to attending my first S.A.M and meeting some new and old friends. Hopefully after the contest I can relax and enjoy it. BTW...my son Jordan age 8 will enjoy the stars of tommorrow show. See you there!
