Michael,
As busy as you are, (and we all know it!) with your magic career, and your family too, I must conclude that you are an excellent time manager! I would like to know where you learned principals of time management...are there some excellent books that you have read and could recommend, or did you just pick this wisdom up through trial and error over the years? Personally, I feel the need to be a better time manager, especially with my magic, and would appreciate listening to your advice.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Thank you -- probably the most influencial advice came from an Earl Nightingale audiotape. He talked about the advice Ivy Lee gave to one of the great industrial leaders of the early 1900's, which was to make a list of the things you need to do the next day, and to then prioritize that list, putting them in order of the most important task first. The next day, work on that task until you get it done, and then move to the next item on the list. Do this everyday, and that's probably all the time management advice you'll ever need.
Make a list the day before, and do the things in the order of their importance. Stephen Covy also takes this a quantum leap forward with PUTTING FIRST THINGS FIRST, by bringing in the 7 habits. One other book, HOW TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR TIME AND YOUR LIFE, which introduces the concept of 'What is the most valuable use of my time right now?', and you'll have all you need to get started! |
