Hmm, flammable ink, and ink that appears with heat..... I would have no use for it due to I do not perform predictions, but for a mentalist I think that could create a nice tool...

Looking forward to a review on this. Especially the flash-changes in the beginning looks as a nice way to make a revelation. Do you need to have flashpaper to do this?

I would be interested in a bit more of a description of the properties of this.
Does the ink always reappear once you have made it "go"...or vice versa? Does it leave a "mark" when it does go or before it appears? As asked, does it need intense heat or can body heat/friction achieve the effect? What kind of pen does this come in? Is there a strong smell? How long can you leave the ink on paper before performing? Does it work on non-porous surfaces?

Here are some answers:
"Does the ink always reappear once you have made it "go"...or vice versa?" No, the ink will not reappear…Unless you want it… By placing the prediction in the freezer… (Cool, no?) "Does it leave a mark when it does go" The ink disappears, and leaves no mark on white or light coloured paper (white, yellow, grey…). In fact the ink change from black to a VERY clear translucent “lightly white” that will be visible only on dark paper. “Does it need intense heat?” It needs 50 degrees Celsius (flame, hot water and many more….) “What kind of pen does this come in?” The pen can be seen in the demo at 1:00; http://www.sympathetink.com/Us.htm Anyway you can place the cartridge in an other body that fits. Is there a strong smell? No smell “How long can you leave the ink on paper before performing?” As long as you want Does it work on non-porous surfaces? Yes, if you can write on the surface, it will work. Hope this help ;-) Have fun with it Mathieu

This seems like it has a lot of potential. This will be the next thing I buy.

I just purchased it. I think it would work nicely in conjunction with the item Fuse. This pen has a lot of potential.

My pal Mathieu Bich just sent me this pen last week, and I haven’t been able to put it down!
It’s a great toy, and some of the ideas in Bich’s booklet are stellar. For instance, the vanishing pepper is pretty cool. What a wild idea!!! Another cool idea named ‘What melts under heat’ made me start thinking in an impromptu direction, but ‘52 in one with letters’ led me to starting playing with a mental approach. Immediately, I picked up Barrie Richardson’s THEATER OF THE MIND ACT TWO (Minch, 2005) and reread Eliminating the Negative. Use Bich’s SympatheINK instead of a center tear for Barrie’s routine! Today I went to my printers, and asked Skip to write his ‘fear’ on a piece of paper, fold it in quarters, and hold it by the ends. With his lighter, I applied heat to the folds of the paper, continuing with a somewhat slated Richardson presentation. I never tore the paper; just had him open the folded paper to reveal his word had vanished. As a finale, I ignited the ‘blank’ paper, and confirmed his fears ‘burned up’ (along with any dirty evidence.) Nothing was left but some ash, and Skippy was utterly thrilled and amazed - I made his day! How’s that for a review? http://www.sympathetink.com/Us.htm Asher

Hi Guys.
Matthew sent me one of these and ***!...I wish I had come up with it! The VISUAL effects possible are great and make me wish a little bit that I still performed close-up "magic." Please trust me, from one who paid a lot of college bills with walk-around, this offers some great opportunities for close-up visual impossibilities. Some great effects are explained in the booklet and I am sure you can come up with your own. However, as most of you know, I perform mentalism. Now while I can't take advantage of this ink's special properties in the VISUAL manner close-up magicians can, I have applied this to some prediction effects. There are a couple "KK" type effects detailed in the instructions and I have come up with a couple of my own. For those that own this: Think prewritten multiple-outs while gazing into a candle or cig. lighter flame to erase all but the correct outcome.....great stuff possible! Bryn

This is going to be interesting, because there can't be a claim of exclusivity with this tool, and it will only be good for two to three years, before it becomes general public knowledge. I think that those who have posted regarding the mechanism have already done a HUGE diservice. It will only be a matter of time before there will be a major US ad campaign that will reveal what this tool is and then the magic an mentalism will be gone. Right now it's being test marketed in Europe, so it's relatively unknown here. Also, the price, while seemingly reasonable is a 2000% mark-up on something that can be picked up for under $1 if you know where to look. A friend of mine has already ordered a gross of these directly. Like I said, it'll be interesting...
