Mr Ammar, I read at one time you were using an RV to travel while lecturing/performing. Are you still using an RV? If so, what type and how do you find it vs. the traditional car/hotel mode? Thanks.

Hi Tony,
The RV was a great thing when doing the one night stand stuff with a family, but unfortunately, it is a really expensive choice. It isn't so much the gas prices, or the hook up charges, but the depreciation of the RV itself can be 10's of thousands of $$ each year. It was nice to be able to not have to pack and unpack every day. That's the big hassle -- every day you are packing and unpacking to check into a hotel. But really, you can get into a groove with this, and after all, even with an RV there is the hooking and unhooking of the unit at camp sites, so that can be a daily grind, too. Over all, when it comes to touring with a family, an RV can be a good thing. But the reality is that magic lectures simply do not generate enough cash for this to be a sound business idea. I was happy to spend that 18 months with my family that way, but from a business perspective, it was too expensive for me to want to do it again... |
