Hi Michael-
How long did it take until you felt comfortable letting your audience see who YOU are as a person in your performance. We here that it is important to be natural and be ourselves but often we see performers who are a bit of a parody...of something...something other than themselves. One of the things that has always impressed me was your "down home" sensibilities.
We look forward to seeing you in Chicago in May.

Howdy P.T.!
I confess that it did take a while for me to really be comfortable being me. But the more you do these things, if you think back and consider what you did and what worked best, you eventually gravitate towards the parts of the experience that are really you. You think about the things that are working, and try to expand on those until eventually there isn't room for anything but you.
I like the definition of creativity that Walt Disney gave. He said, "The more like you you are, the less like anyone else you can be." If you are true to yourself, the result, by definition, will be creative.
