I received my High Caliber Holster the "Original" model and what can I say? Same as Bobby - WOW!
Doing strolling magic it's very difficult to have all the props in pockets and I need my pockets free for ditching stuff because I do some impromptu magic using things from people. I need my jacket and pants pockets free that's for sure "This is the most useful utility tool after the thumbtip" I totally agree. If you plan to buy it, you will not be dissapointed because this is top notch material. It's hand made work of art. Joel, congratulations and thanks for releasing this. Cheers |

Does anyone find the Original model to be a little on the bulky side, say, for a shorter, slimmer person?

Christopher,
I bought the Ricochet for two reasons. Cost was one of them. I also looked at the pictures of the original model, and thought that if I really needed to carry enough stuff to fill up both sides of both holsters (the Ricochet only uses one side), then I am carrying too much (at least for me). The Ricochet was the best choice for my needs. Bob Phillips |

Thank you for that, Bob!

You're welcome Christopher. The only change that I made on the Ricochet was to change the Sharpie loop for another thumbtip pouch. I can carry a Sharpie in my shirt pocket. It would be difficult to do so with a thumbtip.

I should have said awkward to carry a thumb tip in my shirt pocket (carrying it would be easy...retrieving it would be awkward).

Right
While we are on the subject, I am currently corresponding with Joel from High Caliber about some of the needs I have and would like to try incorporating into a holster (should I discover that it is in fact the way to go). Anyone have any experience stealing coins into F.P. from the holster under the pretense of taking something else out of the holster? In my particular case, I'd be removing a purse frame. I'm brainstorming ideas such as this for getting some custom changes to the holster to accomodate the material I already do. Thanks everyone. |

If you need something like this, I highly recommend a Holster from High Caliber Magic. Sounds like a unanimous winner. I am now browsing with confidence for the right model. I see accessory mounts listed as a feature on the top two models. What does 'accessory mounts refer to? Thanks, I am sure I am just missing the obvious. Dave

Accessory mounts were grommets at the bottom of the holster, but I think are now rings hanging at the bottom from either side and the center back for hanging whatever it is you may need to hang.

I bought the Ricochet. It stores all I need for walking around. Two card decks. Business card holder. Wide open pocket where I keep my "Fast and Loose" chain... Would this wide open/4" piuch pocket carry a third deck of cards? Thanks, Dave

Sorry my message above reads like complete gibberish.
I am wondering if an owner can tell me if the four inch pocket is deep enough to carry a deck of cards? Would a deck of cards be so tall it impairs the coin pockets? (if you have a coin pocket on the same side as your four inch pocket) Thanks, Dave

I picked up a HCH second hand, but never used.
In a nutshell, this thing is the last word in walk around prop management. I've read lots here and elsewhere on various organizers, CD holders, and more. I'm sure they are fine, but until you've actually worn an HCH, and taken the time to put your show into the various compartments, and then walked around using it.......you just can't know how good this is. The quality is on par with the finest purses and wallets, like ORIGINAL Jerry O'Connell products. And the leather itself is heavy and of the finest quality, I've got it loaded with Porpers Poker Chip Surprise, Porper She Fly chips, packet tricks and 3CM in a Jerry O'Connell wallet, SFS Bronze shells for Three Shell Game, Max Mavens "Viva Las Vegas", Sol Stones Radical Dice Routine, two decks of cards, color changing knives, fast and loose chain, and a bag of peas. Throw this on and I'm good for way over an hour without going near my prop case. (I eventually have to hit the prop case for card effects needing a full deck stack). I also carry three individual original Jerry O'Connell card cases on the back of my belt (I had to have them modified with the installation of a belt loop), under my jacket, which I switch into the two HCH pockets as needed.........and I put the "dead" decks into the card cases the new deck came out of. After looking, buying, and trying various "on the body" prop management systems over many years, my search is over......Nirvana. |

Hello,
As many of you have already read, the High Caliber Holster is a unit that is very well made and designed. I have one, and I am VERY pleased with it. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

HMMMMM, I've been trying a couple of different attachments on the HCH for use as anchor points for a gravity hold-out.
I've had far smoother operation than when the GHO is attached to a jacket. The jacket doesn't move at all, as the anchors are on the HCH. Interesting idea |

Hi John,
So, do you have any feedback regarding the bulging that some people talk about? Chris |

It is a bit bulgy for me. If I have a wallet in my coat pocket, it is awkward. I love mine, but if I had to do it over, I would get a smaller-Joel is great; give him a call and he is more than will to answer any questions.

Oops, didn't edit my post. What I meant to say is that if I had to do it over, I would get a smaller model-probably the ricochet. Joel is great and will work with you to get you what you want. It is best to have a list of exactly what you want to put in it (and what else you need to carry) and he can help you decide what you need. But if you carry a wallet in your jacket pocket (ie a card to wallet), it might be bulky on that side, especially if you have a slim build, like I do. PM me if you want more information.

I like these things. They are rather expensive. Is there any guarantee if they are too bulky or just not what we expect? Any return policy?

I am a very tall and slender person, so the bulkiness is not an issue. In fact, it fills out my torso in a way that makes my suit-lines look better. (BTW – I own the Original Holster).
I wear it whenever I am in a suit or sport jacket. Many magicians that spot it always ask about it and I always give this accessory my highest regard. As for price – I believe for a working professional, it pays for itself. It also separates the performers from the merely curious or “toy collectors”. |
