The Virtual Session, by Ian Kendall
www.virtualmagicshow.com/vsession
A multitude of video files covering a vast spectrum of magical disciplines, with Ian's trademark in-depth teaching methods.
Ian opened this site a while back, and I was one of the first to join it. £30 gets you membership. What does membership get you? Well, what DOESN'T it get you should be the question.
Ian is providing a site of video tutorials for coin magic, card magic, every other magic... It began with just Ian's VCD releases as downloads (see below) and for a little while that's all there was (Ian was in the middle of moving house amongst other things)... but as I will go into, that has all changed. Let me tell you exactly what you get at the time of writing.
You get access to Ian's famous VCDs as video downloads: Basic Coin Magic (check the reviews here to see what people thought of that), Basic Chip Tricks, Tops Seconds and Bottoms, and B*stard Hard Moves Made Easy. Each one of these CDs previously sold for £10 (and still sell for £10!) and even at that price they are worth every penny. Think the £30 membership fee as 'buy three get one free' if you want.
On top of that, there have been 'updates' added to those CDs (that I think are exclusive to the Veirtual Session site)... the Tops Seconds & Bottoms section has had tutorials for the Up the Ladder cut and The Hop (permission granted from Peter Duffie).
On top of THAT there are a selection of 'standalone' lessons: easy card moves such as the glide, up to various passes & controls, the three-card monte hype, and Ian's famed 'Cover the Spot' bunco tutorial (that also comes with a PDF explanation and printable templates to make your own set).
A full list at time of writing follows:
Basic Coin Magic:
Hang Point
Classic Palm
False Transfers
French Drop
Bobo Switch
Palm to Palm
L'Homme Masque Load
Himber Vanish, Click Pass, and False Count
Himber Vanish to Hang Point
Penetration Effect & Short Routine
Basic Chip Tricks:
Pickup
Pullover
Roll Down
Knuckle Roll
Double Cut
Twirl
Triple Twirl
Reverse Twirl
Chip Shuffles (x3)
Tops Seconds and Bottoms:
Dealing Tops
Dealing Seconds
Dealing Bottoms
Roy Walton's Cannibal Cards
Practise Tips
Up the Ladder Cut
The Hop
B*stard Hard Moves Made Easy:
Lennart Green's Top Shot
Paul Harris' Instant Replay & Simple Switch
Charlie Miller's Cascade Control
Faro Shuffle
One Handed Faro Shuffle
Tabled Faro
Blockhead
Bunco:
Monte Hype
Cover the Spot (video AND pdf)
Cards:
Elmsley Count
Jordan Count
Spanish Control
Hindu Shuffle Control
Simple Pass
The Glide
Double Lift
Through the Fist Flourish
Twisting the Aces
Other stuff:
How to Juggle (a series of lessons for balls and clubs)
How to tie a bow tie (!)
As I mentioned earlier, the site is updated very regularly and Ian recently posted on the site that he has just recorded another 4 HOURS of lessons which will be maing their way onto the site soon.
Ian is also very open to suggestions of what the users of the site want to see - so post your requests and if Ian can do a lesson he will do it.
I don't have to say anything about the quality of Ian's material or the quality of his teaching - you can read any number of reviews of his previous products for that. Top notch.
Can't wait for the next update. 10 out of 10.

Hi all,
A quick (and only) post to say that the sessions are up to speed with regular updates, and there's currently over three hours of lessons over and above the four CD collections. Anyone who joined back in the day but haven't been by for a while may like to have a look to see what's new.
Recent posts include detailed lessons on the pass, the real work on the muscle pass and how to spin a toothbrush on your finger. Something for everyone
Take care, Ian

Sounds awesome... I wish I had known about this before I ordered the standalone Tops, Seconds, and Bottoms CD (although I am glad I did). I will have to check this out, too. Thanks for the review.

I have two of Ian's VCD's and they were by far some of the best teaching I have recieved! I may have to join his virtual session because, his teaching is very clear!

I would like to second the praise given in the posts above. The Virtual Session represents incredible value for money. The level of detail and finesse that Ian goes into far surpasses the usual information given on a typical DVD.
Highly recommended.

Hello all,
Just a wee note to say that Year Two of the sessions in now starting, and memberships for Year One are still available.
More of the same; high quality instruction with minimal production values
You can read about them at the link on Will's post at the top, or at www.virtualmagicshow.com/shop
Thanks for looking, and take care,
Ian
