Hey everyone,
I bought the dynamic coin trick from the magic shop last night, and it is fantastic! It is easy to do, and you learn it in a matter of seconds. I havnt yet attempted the palming of the coins, however will endeaver to do that later! Alex |

I told you it was a great trick didn't I. Did you mention my name when you went to buy it? Yeah leave the palming for now just learnt to get the routine really solid first. And remember practice is everything do not even try to present this to anyone until you can do the routine in your sleep.
Oh and another good I idea you can add to the routine is put the coins in a spectators hand have them covered and get them to hold onto the cover "really, really tight" Then using magic make them teleport from their hand to the table. This goes over really well and I normally work it in between the coins through the case and the vanish. Good luck mate welcome to magic. Moyle

Yeah, you sold it to me when you presented it, I couldn't go past it! Nah didn't mention your name, didn't think they would know you by name, however will definately mention you next time! Yeah, I think that's a really good idea to get the routine down pat first.
I will give that idea a go, definately! Also, what would you suggest about the obvious bang on the bench, as I think this may give the trick away a bit! Like is there any things you can suggest to say or do to try and disquise this a bit! (I know you cant avoid this, but if there are any suggestions to help overcome it a bit, that would be greatly appreaciated! Thanks Alex |

The best way to handle this is be as nonchaulnt about it as possible e.g. "Say if I put this over here" then it looks like the bang is just because you don't really care that much it really is supposed to be presented as a flourish like the bang is all for effect you know. Also I find that if you don't press as hard then you are vanishing during the presentation then production is not as difficult you only need to really press hard when you are doing the final vanish because people will tend to want to examine them. This not pressing as hard is difficult to get right but you will never look back once you get it right as it just makes the presentation so much smoother you know. Also a tip for examining they will tend to try to mimic your actions so I tend to put the ring in my pocket and hand out the case, then when they ask about the ring which they will, I say "Oh yes here you go" and take back the case in this way they get to inspect the ring and they can bang the case as much as they like and will not discover the secret. The best way to avoid discovery by examination though is to move on to something else and put it in your pocket so it is not just there for people to pick up and examine at their desire. These are all thing I have learnt from expeirence using these and they all tend to avoid disaster.

Is this effect made by more than one company? I am wary of cheap imitations. Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks for the link, Moyle....It looks like a glorified nickels to dime effect, and I have seen a wide range of prices on this, so I assume it's quality related....

Aaah, this brings back memories!
I bought my first set of these some 25-30 years back... Those were made by Tenyo, for US coins. Later I bought other sets, for Norwegian coins. Think I have to dig them out and play with them now... Bjørn
