On the list for what?

Am I the only crazy or the only sane person here? So people are signing up to give them $200 for something they don't know they'll use, don't know what it does, don't know what color it is, don't know what age group it's for, don't know the effect, don't know the routine, don't know the patter, don't know the size, weight, character requirements, availability, ship date, or what the heck it's even called?

I love my Axtell board (btw), and I'll bet you $5 that I'll buy one of these, whatever they are's AFTER I SEE IT, but this is the coolest illusion I've ever seen, people filling his email with pre-orders for "that thingy your going to make one day"!!!!!

Well, speaking for myself - I saw the product demo (at least a video), and I know that others here have, too. If you read this thread carefully you will figure out what it is and what it is called - that is how I got it, and when you figure out what it is and what it is called you should have no problem finding it on steve's site - you just have to know where to look.

Tomorrow Steve unvails it at Vent Haven, so we can quietly inform those who REALLY want to know what it is. Maybe the secret will hold for most KIDabra attendees.

Aaron -

I, too, also knew information about the product before posting a comment about being interested in buying one. So I wasn't commenting blindly.

Doesn't it drive you crazy that magicians know how to keep a secret?

Thanks Donald, I figured you & Dennis knew about it, I just find it hilarious that Steve says people are blowing up his email with orders and they don't even know what to call it! That's intelligent marketing to the max...

Thanks all for the hints & I got to see it, very nice. Needs to be used with deep thought though, I can see this being mis-used and causing adult headaches! Love the idea the colors & the end-action. I will post some ideas already swimming in my head, after it has been made public.

At last, we'll find out what the mystery product is. I agree that it's funny how many people said they’d buy one without knowing what it was. It says a lot about the quality and reputation of Steve Axtell's products. I have to admit I don’t have any of the Axtell products but this has me interested.

I just find it on Axtel's site. I am very impressed with it. It seems to be a great warm-up routine and is very colorful. I like the finale. I will certainly order it.

Best regards,

Michael

Steve,
I'll take the plunge and with much Hubris state an improvement with minimum cost. The dial needs several Negative Numbers (ie: -1, -2, -3) for those awkward, silent moments or for testing purposes (ie - Have one Good Joke followed by one bad joke for "Proper Callibration"). I take it you can control where "ZERO" is. Also another meter scale for "Lie Detecting" (ie - Absolute Truth, Truth, Either Way, Fib, etc.) that can be substituded. I plan on making both for mine. Anyway, people can now throw rocks at me for my impudence.

Yours,
Aragorn the Magician

No rocks, I think your just over-thinking it. You can do lie detector just using 1-10 and make it understandable. I don't think your going to make calibration understandable though no matter what!

Besides he asked that we try & keep quiet until he releases it at the next convention. Let's respect that. Then throw ideas out there. Good that your already thinking though. Peace!

Saw the demo and I was surprised because two reasons:
First, this is a funny prop with a lot of potential, I like it and it will be a winner.
Second, I felt down from my chair when I saw the blue thing, seems the same I use for my “First Aid Kit” prop used on Hospital shows with similar end, but mine is more simple.
Axtell prop allows you to make more different routines and I’m sure it’s a high quality product.
Anyway, at the time I will share with you the routine I perform for ill kids on hospitals with successful result and you will be able to adapt the script with this prop.
Cheers!

I think Aragorn the Magician's suggestion for various dials is a very good. Different dials can really customize the effect and fit perfectly with the routine.

Right after you use Mr. Lucky's hint above.

Or after you read the post above that basically outlines what it is.

Or after you make a good guess, which in my case was confirmed by Mr. Lucky's method.

Or, failing all that, when Steve decides you should .

I would love to post the link but I believe it is Steve's place to make it official. If you can't find it and absolutely must know, you could always email Steve or someone who has found it and ask for a better clue, like a real good non-thinkin hint.

Hello:

I agree that Steve Axtell has done a masterful job at creating a buzz about this prop/routine. I'm not criticizing him - he's to applauded for his marketing skills here.

I hope the webpage eventually gives more information; I'm still not able to determine exactly what I'll get for my $150.00. Maybe the demo will clear things up.

Dennis,

While deviating from Steve's launch plan, you created a fair bit of promotional buzz driving considerable interest and demand in this new product. While it obviously was not your intent to derail Steve's marketing plan, I am quite confident the end result will be even more favorable as you have created demand among an important core group of early adopters ... me included. Obviously inventory is always a concern. I speak with some expertise in this area as I am a Sr. marketing exec for a Fortune 50 company.

I am afraid that Steve will find a lot of magicians making a similar prop. He has given a great idea, but I am just not sure it is worth the asking price.

He is giving away the sound files even!

I'm writing from Vent Haven Convention near Cincinnatti OH where I just introduced OFF THE METER for the first time. Totally sold out. Pros are gathering around the meter coming up with all kinds of ideas on how to use it. Quality prop guys The multiple gear mechanism is a very nice piece of work, if you see it you might want it, if you hold it you do want it. I'm very proud of it and can't wait to see what you pros all figure out to do with it! So MANY IDEAS banging around! I'll be here for several more days taking orders...get yours today on this link...

http://www.axtell.com/meter.html

Let's keep this fun and blow off the negative stuff. Rock on Gents!
