What would you like to know ?
What he calls Black Preditor sunglasses are really Ultra-Luminous. They are also called Black Panther depending upon who you buy the sunglasses from. (They are all the same technology which is a level above luminous and uses the best quality Ultra-Luminous Sunglasses on the market for maximum deception.) As far as the X-Ray table is concerned.....it is another variation which only works on certain brands of 100% plastic cards. PM me if you want more details.....the equipment and technology is too expensive to discuss on any forums.

Steady chaps. Actually the X-Ray table is not really about magic as I'm sure people here know. Its a complex and expensive gaff for cheating at cards. Personally, I would rather go with Joe Porpers card cutter.

It used to be, you had to pay for this information. Now some magic punk will give it to you as long as you send him a confidential PM on a magic forum.
What a ****ing joke.

Hi Andrew,
I think that is unnecessarily harsh. Having communicated with Expertmagician via PM's and being a very satisfied customer of his, I have found him knowledgeable and honerable. Perhaps the thing at stake more generally is the greater availability and ease of access to information on the Internet. I know that Darwin Ortiz mentioned this on his visit to the Café. New moves and gaffs now have an 'incubation' period of one to two years before release whereas it took sometimes 20 years for a new creation to become public knowledge even with the written word. Maybe things are becoming easier and cheaper to obtain and the effects of this on the magic community probably warrent a topic of all by itself. Hope this helps a bit. Regards, Paul H |

In order to better understand Expertmagicians willingness to tip this new technology it would be interesting to understand what exactly he sells for which Paul H was his customer.
I mean, really.....if you're tipping pretty much the entire stock of another guys website, from luminous to X-Ray tables, what do you sell? |

As some of you already know..I tend to be very open and try to assist whenever possible. But, there are some secrets which are very tight and I would get my head handed to me if I discussed them in any detail.
I am sure if things were discussed with you "in confidence", or if you paid mega-bucks for a secret .... you would not what the secret discussed on the Internet. I hope my fellow forum members understand....But, if I blabbed certain secrets, my sources would dry up. After doing magic, sleight of hand and gambling material for about 40 years, I honestly try to help my fellow magicians whenever possible. (Yes, I started as a kid )

I understand Andrews point and I think he fully understands. Let us look at this magic community that everyone who does a card trick thinks they are a member of. Reality is that doing magic does not make you an equal to everyone else that does magic nor does it mean you have earned access to information. The last time I saw Andrew he sessioned with guys like Jason England and Paul Wilson. I like these folks and of course it would have been educational to be a part of those sessions but I realized that I was not at their level yet, likely never will be, and respected the higher tier they are on. I wouldn't even have considered asking. I've seen junior Blaines walk up to experienced magicians of note and demand, that is right, demand, how to do a trick because "I'm a magician too!". Guys had to work their way into access of information and 'secrets' and methods. They did not post an interest and then have it offered up. This doesn't mean everyone in this thread isn't an experienced brilliant magician and gambling expert...but it doesn't mean you are either.

Just for the record Jeff did not give or have any intent in giving any secret info etc. If he wants to put up a pm conversation that I had with him about this before these alegations were made, he can with my blessing. It will clearly show that he is an honerable guy. Some of you have jumped to the wrong conclusion as I said. It would be honerable of these guys to apologize.

Andrew Wimhurst,
By the way, I would never give away high quality secrets...I am sorry that you thought I would PM anybody the secret. The Café clearly states "magicians helping magicians"...in my mind this does not mean exposing secrets. But, it does mean helping fellow magicians refine their existing knowledge or use existing magic methods and techniques in different and unusual ways to enhance the art technically and from a performance point of view. It is also useful to provide fellow magicians insight as to what techniques and/or products are best for their working environment. In this way magicans can make the best choice to use the most deceptive method available. (Of course, ease of use, practice and price are just some of the variables which every magician must consider.) For example, while an XRAY table may be very deceptive, it may not be practical if you work Bar Mitzvas .... kidding

Okay, normally, I don't jump in on threads like this, but I'm going to on this one.
All I can say is that, as a mentalist, I am sitting here and laughing hysterically at how everyone is whining about how all of these "big secrets" are being noised abroad, so widely! Firstly, if people are so concerned there can only be one of about three reasons for it - one is that they are magicians who have spent a LOT of money on these goodies and they are ticked off about it being exposed. The second possibility is that they are manufacturers who are worriend about losing money on material that will become useless as it becomes more widely known. And the third possibility is that the people complaining are the ones out there who are skinning the rubes. To the first group - my comment is - welcome to life int he real world. Exposures happen all the time and are a fact of life. I had it happen to a Leslie/DeKraam deck during a show for a buncj of high school kids when I was working at Medieval Times in Schaumburg, IL a few years ago. They had gone to Magic Masters, bought ONE deck with the STATED OBJECTIVE of using it to dis a magician back at their school when they got home (they were on a school tour). I just happened to get caught in the cross fire. And the sales person AT the store SOLD it to them KNOWING what they were going to DO with it! But that happens. I did some material where the ginnick didn't matter and impressed them anyway. To the second group - too bad. You are supplying the Bad Guys (grifters and scam artists) anyway. These people CHEAT others, many of them unsuspecting folks who are looking to play in an HONEST game. If you lose some income because of an exposure of an X-Ray table, I'm not going to lose much sleep over it. That's not a magicial exposure - it's exposing a gambling fraud method and protecting the public interest, arguably. And to the third group - the grifters - I don't think I really have to say much of anything at all. My comment to your suppliers covers it pretty well. Oh yes, as an aside, I sincerely hope that this table is NOT a real radiological device, as the name seems to imply. If it is, then the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the folks who regulate ALL equipment that produce X-Rays) is going to want to have some serious words with you about your advertising. There is no notice regarding the device being a radiological device and there are severe penalties for the transportation, possession and use of certain classes of such devices by unlicensed and regulated persons in the United States. And their regulations REQUIRE that such devices and their advertisements carry notices and that, for certain classes of devices, shielding and operator certifictions are required under Federal Law. (Note use of sarcasm here - I'm pretty certain that this table does NOT use REAL X-Rays - however, if it DOES, I wouldn't want to get within about a mile of one without my lead BVD's! - I am seriously allergic to radiation poisoning...). ;) Lee Darrow, C.H.
