Fred Goode just released TWO versions of his Psychic Photos, one for stage and one for close-up. I much prefer the close-up version because it's easier to do both magically and technically.

The close-up effect: You are passing out your business cards from a small ungimicked ID wallet that has a pocket on one side for the cards and a place for a photo on the other- they are commonly sold and easy to get. As you pass out the last card, you show the photo to someone simply to verify that you have a photo in your wallet. Then the person is given the closed wallet to hold. You take out a cloth bag and inside the cloth bag you have a deck of playing cards, which you remove. You hand the cloth bag to a spectator (I prefer a female for this trick - they scream louder at the ending!) and ask her to take the wallet from the first spectator and drop it into the cloth bag.

While she is doing this, you are shuffling the cards, and then you spread them out on the table or the bar in front of her. She is still holding the bag with one hand, but she uses her finger to draw out freely a card from the spread. She looks at the card and shows it around to everyone but you. Then, following your directions, she drops the card into the bag with the wallet.

You take the cloth bag from her and ask her to hold out her hands. You open the bag and shake out only the wallet. It seems the card has either disappeared or... maybe it somehow went into the wallet when she dropped it in the bag. You ask her to open the bag and she sees inside the wallet behind the photo frame plastic a photo... of herself. She looks closer at the photo and sees that the photo has been printed on the playing card she chose just moments before. That's when the screaming starts.
