At last... the cat is out of the bag. This deck should handle and look much better than the Wakeman Rainbow Deck. For me, I can't imagine a better way to end a card routine than this (w/ deck switch, of course).
Kaylan - Nice name, but "Spectrum" is the name of Paul Wilson's marketed CC Deck Routine, which is very clever BTW. Robert |

Why yes I do know where it is! I do a great deal of business in Hong Kong, well, more in the PRC than Hong Kong even though we all know that Hong Kong is part of the PRC now. My warehouses are in Singapore and The Philippines, assembly in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, S. Korea, and The Philippines. Good times, cheap labor.

Can you 2 PM each other about your personal problems? Nobody else cares.
Anyway, yes Robert...I thought about that soon after I made my last post - that Paul Wilson's effect is called Spectrum...oh well. PEACE Kaylan |

So now we all know everything about the production process of cards, can we please go to the question on the top of the page:
Any cool tricks with the rainbow deck? Thank you ! Frans |

Oh...the answer is no. I'm kidding! Randy Wakeman has some interesting work on 'em.

Senator Crandall's routine is a classic. It's in Randy Wakemen's Rainbow Deck Book and Frank Garcia's "Super Subtle Card Miracles" book.
As Richard said, John Bannon's "Stranger's Gallery" might be a perfect use for this deck. There's also a routine in the instructions that come with the RW Rainbow Deck involving a prediction envelope that's very interesting. There are a lot of good CC Deck routines out there, but very few seem to lend themselves to using a rainbow deck finish for one reason or another. However, I can't imagine a better finish for a card routine if you can come up with a great routine. As Marty said, the cards from this deck can also be used in numerous packet tricks. One that comes to mind is in the latest John Bannon book, "Dear Mr. Fantasy" called "Perfect Strangers". Robert |

Magicbern,
you're right that differences of opinions are common on the Café, but you two were basically taking shots at each other on this thread, which I find annoying (others feel free to jump in). I never said I had the right to decide what is suitable, but I can guarantee you that nobody wants to read about you and Steve V's bickering. He was condescending toward you when he called you his lil' amigo, and you fired back - I just did not want to have this thread turn into a junior high school playground. This is a good thread, and besides that, I just don't like to read about people putting each other down...it bothers me. Don't expect people to IGNORE it...that's not a suitable response for a public forum, I asked you two to just have a truce, remember? But you both carry on...look I have nothing personal against you or Steve V, OK? I just want to read posts about the Rainbow deck...not your disputes with each other. Actually, I would imagine that the two of you are both really great guys and if you knew each other, you'd probably have more in common that differences...same with me. PLEASE understand where I'm coming from. No hard feelings Kaylan NOW...back to the Rainbow deck, I'm curious if you (martini) can tell us any more about the backs...will they all be rider backs of different colors, or will they be comprised of various backs? Thanks Kaylan |

Ha! Sorry Roger!!
I believe Martini said that the backs would all be different - most of which are USPCC designs from the past and present. Is that correct, Marty? When you say Bicycle Rainbow deck, I think a lot of people assume that all the backs are the same angel rider back design but in different colors. That's what I thought at first. But, when asked, Marty told me that this would be cost prohibitive. So... back to the topic: Apart from the many, many packet tricks possible, does anyone have any more ideas regarding routines for the full rainbow deck? Robert |

OK that's fine... but kinda irrelevant here. Is UPSCC having some financial problems or anything? Hard to imagine, since their cards are everywhere. But I saw online that they closed their playing card museum a while back and wondered if it was for financial reasons.... |

It is relevant when folks think that they can go to Walmart and buy a rainbow deck off the rack. As for the museum lets face it...how many people really want to go to Ohio let alone to a card museum? Granted for Ohio that would be pretty durn interesting.

Personally, I'm interested in the new rainbow Bicycle deck and its possible applications. Can we talk about that now? People have put a lot of time, effort, and $$ into this, I'm sure. It's the first USPCC Bicycle Rainbow Deck ever printed, and we're getting side-tracked.

Agreed Robert...perhaps we can start to dig up sources for effects that utilize this deck, and share them? I personally do not know any, other than the ones already discussed here, so I will try to do some research.

Greetings Kaylan;
I had talked to the party footing the bill on these to see what information I could pass along, I feel that only fair since he is paying the costs of getting this deck printed. The cards will consist of backs from Bicycle Rider, Bicycle Fan, Cupid Back, Racer Back, Bulldog, Thistle, Tally-ho, Eagles, Angels, Tangent, Safety, Alladin, and a lot more. The backs will consist of Red, Blue, Green, Black, Yellow, & Orange unless there are any final changes from USPCC. All of the cards will have Regular Bicycle faces, and all the backs will have white borders. There was a lot of back and forth work on this due to USPCC not wanting to print certain back designs (mainly casino backs and old backs that they are bringing back out in the future) There are also 4 gaffs that were put together with this pack, but I was asked not to disclose them yet. The cards can be put together with other cards to create many packet effects, and there will be a dvd coming out of things to do with the deck and some of the cards themselves. The pack will have a targeted price that will make it very affordable. I will release more info when I am told that I can do so, until then, I am awaiting the packs as all of you are. As far as the museum closing, it is sad but there really was not much interest from people in the past, that is why they decided to close the museum. It is opened from time to time for groups as a historical archive and may one day reopen if enough interest is shown. I hope this has helped answer some questions about the rainbow deck. All the Best Marty |

Marty,
THANK YOU so much for sharing your information...that was very generous of you to do...the deck sounds INCREDIBLE! I don't know if any of you are familiar with Aladdin cards, but they look and feel great - I picked a couple decks up off of eBay a few months ago and I really like them a lot. It's great to know that the faces will be regular Bike faces and that they will all have white borders. I'll be buying a few of these! Kaylan |

The rainbow trick. It will have cards with the same face patterns but the backs will be of different, get ready, colors and designs. For example you will have a red bike, a blue bike, a green bike, a pink bike, a purple bike, the an older style fan back red bike, then a blue one, and a green, and purple, and pink, and yellow, then a red tally ho, then a blue one, then a green one, then a purple one, then a...well, you get it.

Thanks Steve for your valuable inputs.
Well done USPCC - about time too! I'm eagerly awaiting this deck and thanks Marty for giving us all the 'heads-up' Robert: I have the cards for "Perfect Strangers." Goodness knows where they all came from - but it's a superb effect. Trouble is, I rarely use it now in preference for the similar "Degrees of Freedom" with a regular pack. |
