If people don't know which gaffed deck to buy, just take a look.....
Bicycle Red Gaff (BRG) Deck: http://www.wizardhq.com/magicstore/redgaffdeck.html Ghost Gaff Deck: http://www.wizardhq.com/magicstore/ghostgaffdeck.html Black Tiger Gaff Deck: http://www.wizardhq.com/magicstore/btgaffdeck.html I suggest that this post should be a sticky... Not sure how to do that.

There is 1 descrepancy that I noticed in my own BRG deck when compared to this webpage:
The gaffed card with the red back and an imprint of a 6 of Spades on its red bicycle back is NOT blank on the face of my card.... It has a 4 of Hearts regular face of the card. What do people have on their own BRG decks for this gaffed card???

I really like the looks of that 'aged' six of spades. I wish they'd print a whole deck like that.

Airship, many others wished the same.
A couple weeks ago, Brad stated over at the E forums that even the USPCC folks loved the aged card, and that E is in the process of making an entire "aged" deck. It'll be awhile in the making though, since they're going to do individual aging for each card, and will want them to look as good as the one in the gaff deck. It's kind of how the Ghost deck came along. There was one card in the Tiger Gaff that was so well-liked, it became an entire deck. Kevin

The red deck seems like I could get more use out of it than the others.
Thanks for this information...Because in the demo, it only shows a few, and now I can see them all! -john |

This is very useful - I'm kind of disappointed they didn't include the B'Wave/Twisted Sister gaffs in the Red Deck... that means the Ghost gaff deck is still the best value for money to me.

Malchat, I think they didn't include a lot of the "common" gaffs, because they are just that - common.
The only place to get a set of McDonald's Aces or Twisted Sister gaffs in Ghost deisgn is in the Ghost gaff. However, it's very easy to get those gimmicks, along with DB, DF, etc in a standard Red Bike format. I think E wanted to make sure that you get a lot of unique cards for your money, not repeats of gaffs that a lot of magicians already have in their box o' tricks. I was glad of this. I'd much rather have a set of zipper cards than another McDonald's Aces, cause I can get those anywhere. Kevin

The CAJ DECK has some of those Twisted Sister cards, but Kings (you get 3). This deck has a lot of "uncommon" gaffed cards... Look at some of the reviews of it on this forum or you can even PM CAJ, himself. He is a regular on here and very personable.
Also, the SPECIAL ASSORTED DECK (from Penguin Magic) has 1 of each (King, Queen, & Jack). This deck has many of the "common" gaffed cards also.

I've been thinking about grabbing a gaffed deck. I really want to get the black tiger deck/gaff so I can really work on my pasteboard magic. Right now, I'm stuck with a Svengali (which personally gets old..) and my neon-green bicycle deck (which I use for standard pick-a-card or quick sleights.
This is a great post to show what I can get, I <3 the fingerprint and the blurred cards. |
