This is a new hook up with invisible elastic that I'm working on. I know it's not smooth yet. I'm still mastering the hook up. But I'm coming up with many uses for it and the great thing is you don't have to anchor to anything. More movement then a traditional loop hook up. With this I can make things float down to the floor and up to my mouth. Make things jump from hand to hand and many other things but you can do it in the middle of a room.
The video is very low quality. I just dropped to the floor in my work room and shot myself experimenting with my cheapo camera. So the video is mainly just for my own observation but I figured I'd post it to get some feed back. I know some of the movement and hand actions might give it away now because I'm still working on it. Anyway, let me know what you think. The first thing I do with the napkin is kind of neat because it looks like you're doing the muscle pass. I use this for a slow motion vanish/explanation. For example I ball up and bill. Put it in my left hand and it vanishes. Then it appears in my right. Then I perform it in slow motion to "show how it's done". Do the slow motion mime bit and when the bill hand is opened to show the bill has vanished they see it fly into the other hand. I also like how it floats and allow my hands to move around it. Remember, this hook up uses no anchor and can be done in the middle of a room with people walking all around me. The cigarette still needs a lot of work. I just have to work out how to make it float to my mouth more smoothly. Click here to see it. Ron Jaxon |

Thanks everyone.
It's still being worked out. Just about every day I'm finding a new use for the hook up. Just the other day came up with a use for it where I balled up a bill. Placed it on the floor then on my command it jumps up into my hand at about waist level. What I really like about it is you can do things that you'd normally do with a two point hook up. By that I mean running from you to an anchor point. Yet you don't need to anchor to anything. I love the ITR and still use it a lot but I'm working to do most of the things I do with the ITR using this hook up. So I'll be ready in any situation. I still prefer the ITR to some things though so it's not something to replace it to me. It's just another option. Having said all that. With this hook up you can also anchor to things like an ITR. Like all thread work it's easy to do but will take a lot of practice to make it look magical. I like the floating cigarette with it too. If you watch the video you'll probably see why I don't like how it looks when it floats to my mouth. I'm working on something to improve that. The cigarette will float like you see in the video (vertically) but when it floats to my mouth it angles to a horizontal angle as it reaches my lips. The way it moves and angles reminds me of how the action of John Kennedy's Animated Cigarette moves as it floats to his mouth. I'm working on this to be released with a new kind of invisible elastic thread that's soon to be released. So this hook up will be included in the instructions that come with it. I'll keep you all posted on that. Thanks for the feed back. Ron Jaxon |

Looking forward to it Ron!
This looks excellent! Very promising! Just a question, with this hook up, could you, in the course of working with cards, drop one and act annoyed - then snapping your fingers and it jumps up to your waiting hand? That would be a really cool 'magical by-the-way'. Take care buddy, Logan

Hmm. With this hook up alone I don't think that would work. Basically the "jumping up to your hand" is done by holding the object to the floor with your foot. For example you might say, "I'll put this bill down here for a moment while I do this other thing". Then when you wan the bill again instead of bending down to pick it up you just hold your hand out and it jumps out from under your toes and fly's to your hand.
But I do know a few ways you can do what you want to do. You can Email or PM me and I'll give you some ideas. Ron Jaxon |

Ron, is this similar to a Finn Jon hookup? Looks great.

It's similar to Fin Jon's in that it's an elastic loop. But it's also very different. With this hook up you can do everything you can do with Fin Jon's though. It is an invisible elastic loop. But it's very different.

Yeah, the other videos caught my attention too. Finally saw it. Good job. If you want to put out a DVD, call me. No BS man; give us a ring. We are always looking to work with talents like you and bring more people into our creative team. Ask around about us and then, if you are up to it, let's talk a little to explore the ideas. I got away from elastic thread, but this has inspired me to try again! Lot's of new possibilities. Hope you'll have something on this that we can purchase.
I like 'animation' effects, so I have come up with some new hookups and moves for that. I'm curious if animation can work with elastic as effectively as with regular IT. Thanks! D.Duane |

I'm the same way. I rarely use Elastic Thread. In fact I've mentioned my reasons why in many posts here on the Café in IT sections. But this new hook up has got me started using Elastic thread more often. I still use my ITR most of the time but with this hook up on me I have more options. If I am in a situation where I have something to anchor to then I'll mostly use my ITR. But this hook up is what I'll use when no anchor point is available. For instance if I'm standing in the middle of a crowd (It happens quite often) I can use this hook up right in the middle of the circle of people. There are also some things that can be done with this hook up that can't be done with an ITR. For instance the jumping bill (Very first thing on this video). I like that because I also perform a muscle pass and this looks the same but with a different object.
I'm working on the instructions now. It'll include some basic moves and advanced moves. Some of the moves can get pretty involved and will take a while to master. While others are fairly easy. I'll keep you posted. Ron Jaxon |
