Hello,
I just saw on impossibottle.co.uk site an amazing golf in bottle impossible object :
http://www.impossibottle.co.uk/img/bob17big.jpg
The bottleneck is a very small width ! So it looks like a golfball could pass through a wine bottleneck. Is this possible ?
Also be warn, don't try to put the golf ball in microwave...it can explode !!
(The pressure inside is getting bigger with microwave but cannot escape )
Does anyone know a source of explaination for putting a golfball in bottle ?
Thank you for any information ! Else enjoy the impossibility

Part of the fun of the bottles is engineering a way to duplicate the result. Do you really want to spoil the fun?

!
My objective is not to just understand how it is done but to actually make them
I already had the fun of the astonishment part ,
I am just begining the fun of understanding how it is done ,
Then the fun of making them ,
Then the fun of sharing this with friends/family and see astonishment on their face .
Lots of fun in perspective
Nicolas
ps : Can anyone confirm that the golf ball in this bottle is a real golf ball and not a fake hollow plastic ball?

The guy who runs that site is a Café member, so he should be able to confirm that it's a real golf ball.

Thanks !
I don't know in fact if he actually had the object in hand or he just received the picture.
Merlin, do you know for sure if the golf ball is a real full one ?
Impossible object seem to be real underground nature; maybe that is why I like them. Secret are kept a lot better than magic

The bottle in question is made by a chap called Bob Durbin. He has shared some methods for his bottles with me but unfortunately not this one. Therefore I am unable to confirm the nature of the golf ball in this bottle. All I can say is that if he uses the same methods I do, it probably is. All the golf balls in my bottles are normal, working, ones.

Thanks Merlin for your answer !
I see that there is big difference in bottleneck width (on the picture in the first post, the bottleneck is very small = wine bottle).
Could you with your method put a full plain golf ball in a wine bottle ?
I am just asking to be sure it is possible before searching a solution
Because from a picture, it is difficult to differ the reality from fiction...
Thanks you for your help !

Thanks a lot Merlin for your help !
That's the reason why it intrigue me so much, first time I see a golf ball in bottle with such a narrow bottleneck...
Also the reason why I suspect the ball not to be a real full golf ball
(more like a ping-pong ball but in golf ball mould)

I heard if you catch the ball early, when it's still budding(right after the blossoms drop), just sliding a bottle over the baby golf ball will allow it grow to full size in time inside!

Hello papawemba (remember me?),
To me the most important feature in the picture is the fact that the golf ball is no longer intact. Indeed, there's a hole drilled right through it, which became covered up by the bolt. Doesn't this make you think?

I saw part of Scot Morris' (Omni & Games Magazine) collection recently. Although the golf ball is out of reach inside the bottle, it indeed had enough mass to imply that it's not hollow.

I still cant figure out where the idea comes from that you cant appreciate something if you understand it.

Things that are solid right now may be hollow in the future... and vice versa.

I've been toying around with bottles for about 3 months now. Check mine out at Merlin's Impossibottle website. When you visit the gallery click the link for Brian Beale and enjoy!
